Today we’d like to introduce you to Ilsa Greatorex-Duncan.
Hi Ilsa; thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in Midcoast Maine, my mother was a naturopath and nurse midwife, and I was brought up learning about nature’s gifts and natural medicine. I settled in Missoula, Montana, 7 years ago, teaching movement, aerial dance, and fitness. I decided to step into the health coaching world about 4 years ago to help my students who were struggling on a deeper level. Unfortunately, I also found myself in a health crisis around this time. I was experiencing some deep chronic pain; my bones were popping every day, my joints were aching, and my hips were the worst. I couldn’t sleep through the night anymore. My doctor told me I had calcifications on both my hips and I would need a hip replacement in the next year or so. This journey led me on quite the quest, trying all sorts of modalities and products, and nothing gave me lasting relief until I found Regenerative Health. The first 30 days, my pain started to diminish, I was so excited I decided to keep going, and after 90 days on the protocol, I was completely pain-free and felt like I had a whole new body. Not only was my body pain gone, but I had a pain-free period, no more terrible PMS or mood swings, and I had sustainable energy every day without the need for caffeine (which was a first in about 20 years!). All this honestly blew me away; it was so simple, I gave my body the right support, and it was able to repair itself, and I couldn’t wait to share what I’d found with the world!
After my incredible experience, my parents were my first passion project, my mother had IBS for seven years, and it was getting to the point where she was wasting away, and I was afraid I might lose her. She had a normal bowel movement after the first 15 days of a Regenerative protocol. After 40 days, she could re-introduce foods she hadn’t been able to eat in over three or four years without digestive distress! She continued to improve and is now back to her vibrant self!
My father had terrible, painful skin rashes that would ooze and bubble up; the doctors couldn’t figure out what was wrong with him. He spent thousands of dollars at the doctor’s office trying to figure out how to deal with it. They kept injecting him with steroids and giving him steroidal skin creams to cover the symptoms. After two months of a regenerative journey, his skin cleared up, his pre-cancerous skin patch disappeared, and he has been doing much better. The rashes have not come back.
This is the heart of how my business came to be. I could repair my body and support my family to do the same. Now I love what I do – helping people find natural and noninvasive solutions to get to the root cause and reverse the issue.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being a regenerative health practitioner has been a challenge because it is such an unrecognized practice. Many people are skeptical because so much misinformation is based on our society. During my education, I had to unlearn some things that I had le in the past, and that was, which wrap my head around.
I’ve now seen the science and done my due diligence to do the research I need to educate my clients in the way they need to see the value and purpose behind what we are doing. We are bringing our bodies back to the original blueprint. We support ourselves by simplifying what we put in our bodies and giving particular support to the organs and glands to nurture them back into action. It is a challenging practice, though, because the diet shifts and some of the lifestyle shifts that may be required to repair fully are not necessarily easy for the average individual. I have met a lot of resistance along the way.
My best way of dealing with this resistance is shining my light brighter and just illuminating that struggling is optional. We have the power to give the body the right support or not; it’s truly up to you. However, I’ve found that the more I stand strong within my practice and encourage people to make bigger shifts, the more I attract the people ready for the regenerative journey.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Firespark Wellness & Coaching?
I am now a certified Regenerative Health Practitioner, Iridologist, and Speaker. I help my clients to reverse discomfort and disease in the body using nutrient-dense foods, herbs, phototherapy, and potentially some diet shifts and other non-invasive tools to get you from surviving to thriving in your body. I am also an Iridologist, a tool to identify the current state of health and weaknesses in the body to figure out the root cause of what’s happening in the systems. We always want to go to the root cause and address that first to reverse a condition in the body. I pair my iridology Analysis with symptomology and facial mapping to confirm the root cause of weakness. If needed, we can also do bio-individualized blood work and urine and fecal analysis if we need to identify some deficiencies or weaknesses on a deeper level.
I specialize in hormonal health, specifically helping women between the ages of 20 and 45 rebalance their hormones and the endocrine system so that they can enjoy their bodies every day. Women are taught in our society that it’s normal to struggle through the month, that your period has to be painful, and that PMS is normal. You have to deal with it, that PCOS, endometriosis, are irreversible, and you have to live with it, and this simply is not true. When my clients work with me, I will ensure they are supported in whatever way they need. I’m here to be your guide and cheerleader, give you any support you need along the way and ensure you follow protocol. I’m also a certified life and health coach, so I work with neurolinguistic programming and other techniques to help you overcome obstacles or self-sabotage while on protocol. My mission is to give people their hope back. We can do so much to support the body to repair itself. You don’t have to struggle or live with it.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I’m not from there and don’t know the area, but I hope to visit soon so I can offer some workshops and talks!
