Hi Erika , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started Caring for the Earth Dress Rentals after seeing many of my customers through my modeling/fashion business (More Than Modeling) spend vast amounts of money on clothing kids quickly grew out of. Those expensive ‘wear once’ items for special occasions such as weddings, prom and pageants. I knew some families couldn’t afford to waste money and I am also aware of how fashion is one of the Earth’s major polluters. So, with saving money and helping the planet in mind, I decided a rental business was definitely the way to go. Save money and save the planet!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Having run another business here in town for the last 7 years things definitely went smoother than they could have done. Our one big hurdle has been dealing with a leak in our premises. This forced us to close for repairs for a few weeks but luckily none of the clothing was damaged. It could have been a lot worse!

Caring for the Earth Dress Rentals is a dress and clothing rental company for special occasion dresses and more.

We have dresses for proms, weddings, pageants and fashion shows, for ages 2 through adults. Other items we have include accessories (most of which are made out of discarded fabrics), angel wings, historical type costumes, western wear and even a few sharp suits for young (age 10-12) boys!

Around once a month we hold a dress and clothing sale with killer deals!
Our boutique is open by appointment only, however we do advertise on our IG page about open events, model searches, fashion shows and closeouts.

We rotate stock frequently and if you are looking for something please feel free to ask. The likelihood is we will have something that may work for you. Our sales items are usually bargain prices and out rentals start as low as $5.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I believe risk is necessary for growth and without growth there is no life.
