Hi Erik, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Velvet & Lace Events started from a simple idea: events should feel personal, seamless, and unforgettable. I worked for a well-established company in the industry and realized there was an opportunity to elevate the experience—to combine quality, personality, and timeless moments in a way that truly stands out. I knew I could offer something special, and that’s what inspired me to create Velvet & Lace.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s been a great ride. One of the biggest challenges was scaling the business. Early on, I was doing everything myself, and I had to turn down events because I couldn’t be everywhere at once. But I’ve since built a team of talented DJs who share my vision, and now we’re able to take on more events without compromising the quality and personal touch that Velvet & Lace is known for. Every step has been an opportunity to grow, and I’m proud of how far we’ve come.

Velvet & Lace is all about crafting unique, unforgettable experiences through high-quality DJ services. We pride ourselves on delivering seamless events that feel personal and tailored to each client’s vision. What sets us apart is our focus on creating an atmosphere that goes beyond just music—we ensure every detail works together to elevate the entire experience. We’re known for our professionalism and commitment to making every event feel exceptional, working with some of the biggest names locally and nationally for corporate events, as well as curating unforgettable weddings & private parties.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
The pandemic taught me to never take anything for granted. It gave me a lot of perspective—things can change in an instant, and you never know what might happen tomorrow. That’s why I’m always focused on doing my absolute best and making every event count. It’s a reminder that life’s unpredictable, but the experience we create today can last forever.
