Inspiring Conversations with Emily Blanche of Gold Lion Healing Arts

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Blanche.

Hi Emily, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Currently I am a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, sound healer and reiki master. Some of my favorite memories growing up were visiting the Jan Ross bookstore in Glendale, AZ. From a young age I’ve been attracted to the subtle and unseen. Around age 15 when I had more independency and a friend with a car I began attending Kundalini yoga classes. I developed a daily meditation practice and I feel that opened me up to my current path. After I completed a Bachelors of Fine Art, minor in religion from ASU I moved to San Francisco and Hollywood. I was making clothing that was selling in hip boutiques, managing a popular clothing store with celebrity clientele and working as a freelance seamstress for other designers. I have so many fun stories from those years but my daily yoga and meditation practice began to take more attention. In 2004, I attended my first yoga teacher training and got a job teaching yoga and help managing a studio near Golden Gate park. During that time I was experimenting with raw diets, fasting, completing a massage therapy training, received my first reiki attunment and volunteering at a non-profit acupuncture clinic. I was absorbing all things “hippy, new age and healing” while living in SF. After I moved back home to Phoenix I returned to sewing opening a few boutiques with friends and teaching yoga. After the recession in 2008ish I again dove back into all things yoga, meditation and integrative health care. Which led me to many years of education, training and experience which I share with all the clients daily.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Good question, like most of life it has smooth amazing days as well as phases rich in growth opportunities. I spent a few years just working through witch wounds in my system that made it challenging to accept my gifts. That might have been my biggest obstacle which effected properly charging for my services and such.

We’ve been impressed with Gold Lion Healing Arts, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Gold Lion Healing Arts began in 2012 offering sound healing and yoga across the valley. In 2023 after earning a doctorate degree and becoming a licensed acupuncturist my offerings and clientele have expanded. Currently I offer customized treatments addressing everything from stress to women’s health to facial paralysis from bells palsy and traumatic injuries. I include sound healing in almost every session. A few minutes with a weighted tuning fork, Tibetan signing bowl or crystal pyramid chime helps clients deeply relax and occasionally experience psychedelic experiences. Once a month or so I offer public sound healing baths. 75 minutes of being bathed in healing vibrations and frequencies with a guided meditation. I am hired frequently for private ceremonial sound baths, for baby blessings, women’s retreats, small business retreats, family’s with members in hospice to feel peaceful, calm and a beautiful bonding experience, energetic home cleansing and more. I am honored to help people going through transitions, overwhelm and maintaining healthy lifestyles.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
If you are interested in the field of energy work seek out a reputable mentor that you resonate with. Becoming a Chinese medicine practioner/acupuncturist requires a graduate degree so research schools to find one that matches your interest. Receive a treatment from that school’s clinic and ask all the questions. When working with energy one needs to commit to a daily practice to help clear what is opened and released with clients.. Learn how to properly hold space and be mindful of your language and the words you use.
