Diamond , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I got my start in the beauty industry in a somewhat unexpected way. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, I began my career in retail as a visual manager. Through this experience, I discovered a passion for beauty and the desire to create my own beauty line. Fast forward to 2021, I got married and relocated to Arizona. It was here that my business really started to grow.

Becoming a first-time mom, I experienced firsthand the toll that pregnancy and the desert heat took on my skin. This inspired me to start creating natural body scrubs and body oils to help nourish and hydrate the skin. Additionally, I began carrying jewelry specifically designed for those with eczema or sensitive skin.

While my business has primarily focused on an online presence, I am excited to expand and grow our name in Arizona. The unique combination of my background in retail, my passion for beauty, and my personal experiences as a new mom have all played a role in shaping my business today. I am proud of how far I have come and look forward to the future growth and success of my brand.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Navigating the journey of building my beauty business has definitely had its share of challenges. I am a firm believer that rough patches are an inevitable part of the entrepreneurial journey, and my experience has been no exception. It has been far from a smooth ride, but the rewards have made it all worth it.

One of the biggest challenges I faced was moving my business to a new market in Arizona. Adapting to a different customer base and market trends required a full overhaul of my brand, which was both daunting and time-consuming. There were days when I saw no sales or engagement, which can be disheartening. However, I have always approached these challenges as opportunities for growth.

One aspect that I continue to struggle with is staying consistent with marketing efforts and ensuring that my brand is well-known within the community. Marketing can be a time-consuming and ever-evolving aspect of running a business, and finding the balance between creating products and promoting them effectively has been a constant challenge.

Despite the ups and downs, I am grateful for the lessons learned and the growth that has come from overcoming these challenges. Each obstacle has made me stronger and more determined to succeed in growing my business and making a positive impact in the beauty industry.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
What you should know about TBC Market is that we are community driven first. My brand was created for black women who look like me who don’t always have the access or the time for luxury shower care as well as those who have dry or eczema prone skin who still want a luxe experience. What we do at TBC is offer you luxury through our body care and accessories at a price point that’s affordable. We are know for our whipped body scrub which helps to elevate your shower experience even if you only have a little time. What sets us apart is the products we create are there for those with dry skin and eczema as well as curating a safe space where black women can be seen but all can feel welcomed. I am most proud with the connections I’ve made online with people who love the products or just support us through encouragement. I want readers to know that we offer great body care and accessories but also that we want community and mental health to be just as important as beauty. I want you to know that everyone deserves a little luxury and a lot of love.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is my family, which includes my friends. They have played a significant role in shaping who I am both as a person and as a business owner. Their unwavering support and encouragement have been my driving force to keep pushing forward every day. Knowing that I have a strong support system behind me gives me the motivation and strength to overcome any challenges that come my way.

Furthermore, being a woman is a powerful motivator for me. I am inspired by the beauty and diversity of women, and I believe that our unique qualities should be celebrated and uplifted. Women are incredibly dynamic and have so much to offer to the world. I am passionate about empowering women to embrace their individuality and strengths, and I strive to create products that make women feel seen and appreciated.

As a woman in business, I am committed to championing the voices of women and promoting inclusivity and diversity within the beauty industry. My dedication to my family and my belief in the power of women are at the core of everything I do, and they continue to drive me to make a positive impact in both my personal and professional life.
