Inspiring Conversations with Desmond Floyd of Deyseros Clothing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Desmond Floyd.

Hi Desmond, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I always said that once I have my first kid, I’d get my first tattoo, well that never happened! After my second child Deysen was born, I had thought about alternatives I could do instead to celebrate fatherhood.

I decided to make a clothing line in honor of them. I wanted the name of the company to incorporate both of my kids’ names. I settled on the name “Deyseros”. The “Deyse” comes from my son Deysen’s name and the “Ros” comes from my daughter Piper’s middle name Rose.

Once I had my third kid, Presten, I decided to do a secondary logo that had three roses side by side so that he could be incorporated into the mix. The name had already been established at this point, so I didn’t want to change it all up of a sudden.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not always been a smooth road. It was tough finding manufacturers that could be trusted. I would outsource my clothing because I knew it would be much cheaper than buying locally here in the states.

With outsourcing, you have to deal with language barriers as well as sketchy manufacturers that will take your money and never send any product. I’ve lost a lot of money from bad deals with manufacturers. At times, the clothing would be so low quality that I didn’t feel comfortable selling at full price or sometimes even at all because I didn’t want my clothing brand shown in a negative light.

I’ve also dealt with social media influencers who would ask for free clothing in return for promotion. Some influencers wouldn’t promote after receiving their package. While others would promote for a bit but there would never be much of an increase in my sales and website traffic.

So it was tough figuring out which influencers to trust and from those, who would be able to actually benefit my company and bring in more sales.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Deyseros Clothing is truly “Where quality, unique and high-end fashion meets affordability!” We want our customers to feel confident in the clothes they are wearing.

Also to feel relaxed at the fact they didn’t have to spend an arm and leg to purchase the clothes. We are known for having something for everyone. Our target audience is literally any and everyone from adults to youth; especially with the launch of our new Deyseros Youngins subsidiary.

Soon we will be offering sizes Youth XS all the way up to Adult 3XL. From fitness wear to nightlife outfits, we plan to offer it all! We are literally just getting our feet wet.

What are your plans for the future?
I plan to keep expanding my brand. I want to have more clothing for youth. That’s one of my big focuses. I also plan on doing more pop-up shops and having my clothes sold in local boutiques that have storefront locations. I’ve also partnered with some local music artists that are really starting to gain traction. Be on the lookout for our logos in some music videos!
