I always knew I wanted to be the face of my empire; I never had a complete vision of what I wanted to do. During this recent pandemic, I was allowed to self-reflect and put together a plan to turn my vision into a reality. Because of my love for shopping and fashion, I wanted to create a space for women like me to shop and not break the bank. I created a swimwear & apparel brand that caters to women of all sizes, and my true mission for my brand is to make my customers feel valued, heard, and confident. Supporting the sisterhood of empowering women, I am constantly pushing the boundaries of what I can do for women everywhere. I feel liberated when told, “I feel so beautiful in my Summer Escape dress,” or whatever they purchased. It’s an amazing feeling.

Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Starting/creating a business always has challenges, but the goal is to work through those obstacles; getting people to trust your brand and the quality of products and spending their big money with you can sometimes be challenging. When I first created Summer Escape, I struggled to stand out from the crowd. So many other clothing brands have been around a lot longer than mine, and I knew I wanted to get there too. I put in the work and put a lot of my time into advertising my brand, and for that, I was able to reach a larger audience over time. I truly believe in my craft, trust my vision, and thank every one of my customers for trusting me and my brand.
