Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryce Petersen.
Hi Bryce, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
The seeds for Hydro Air Wellness were planted around 2005 when my dad, Kevin, rediscovered the joy of movement through a HydroWorx aquatic treadmill, a critical turning point after years of health struggles. Ten years later, this personal revelation, combined with my pursuit of a physical therapy doctorate and exposure to anti-gravity treadmills, ignited a shared vision. The concept and framework began to take shape in 2023 when we decided to take the plunge, and create an unprecedented, active wellness experience, with equipment typically only available to professional athletes. What began as a simple idea for a specialized physical therapy clinic evolved into a comprehensive “biohacking” facility, offering a range of innovative therapies alongside the aquatic and anti-gravity treadmills. This facility has proven instrumental in my dad’s remarkable health transformation, and has inspired my entire family to embrace improved wellness. We invite others to experience similar life-changing results.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This business has evolved so much and is completely different than either of us ever envisioned. As a physical therapist, my expertise has been healing the body rather than business building. So the process of navigating through uncharted waters has been quite rocky at times. To our knowledge, there is no facility like ours anywhere in Arizona, or anywhere else for that matter. For the first year, some of the biggest challenges we faced were as fundamental as solidifying our identity. We knew what we wanted to give to the community (an unparalleled wellness experience for improved recovery and quality of life), but we did not immediately know how to package and deliver it in a consistent way that made sense at first glance. From website creation and marketing to finding the right software for a seamless process, to fostering an excellent experience for all our clients, it has involved much trial and error. We feel extremely blessed to be where we are now and continually look for ways to adapt and improve on this exciting concept.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
A good friend of mine and former NFL player states often that this facility is the “Disneyland of wellness and recovery.” Hydro Air truly does have everything needed to maintain and improve quality of life under one roof! Our focus on active lifestyle, in addition to the best “health spa” equipment, combined with expertise from a Doctor of Physical Therapy is what makes us different from everyone else. No where else will you find state-of-the-art low-impact treadmills, full body cryotherapy, plunge, body scanner, red light, massage, vibration plate, exercise equipment and much more in the same place. Collegiate and professional facilities might have one or two of the above, but not all. Our desire is to make the most advanced recovery and wellness equipment available to everyone, not just the elite athlete.
VIP Members enjoy daily, keyed access to the front door and unlimited access to all available equipment. Upon joining, each member receives orientation and a complementary 1:1 planning session with Bryce to generate a recommended routine based on individual wellness goals. For those who prefer not to have a membership, some equipment items are bookable during standard business hours Monday through Friday.
Any big plans?
Our initial goal is to continue to refine this location into the ultimate destination and premium choice for fitness, wellness, and recovery. We do this by continually listening to feedback from our members and implementing improvements to the overall experience. We are always looking for ways to add value to our product. For example, our next phase of improvement will likely involve expanding the facility to include a back patio, sauna, private shower, and comfortable guest waiting area. Once we have perfected the model at this location, we hope to be able to expand to include new locations to allow more convenient access to more others in the east valley and Phoenix/metro area.
