Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryce Pearson.

Hi Bryce, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am originally from Phoenix, AZ; I went to college in Kalamazoo, MI, to study business because I have always been fascinated with business and knew someday I’d like to have my own. I always felt like entrepreneurship was the path to freedom and would allow me to have time to spend with my loved ones. After graduating, I worked in the financial industry for several years. This taught me a lot about saving, financing, underwriting, working with lenders and the reasons why people get denied, which typically is due to their credit and bad financial habits.

Clever Credit Pros started by simply helping friends and family with bad financial habits learn to save, budget, and build their credit. I had the realization that many people aren’t taught how credit works and how it can affect many of the decisions they’ll make to better their lives. This lack of information causes many people to make bad decisions which ruins their credit or keeps them wondering why they can’t increase their score.

Growing up, I knew a few people with “good” credit, ALOT with “bad” credit, but still no one who could tell me how it actually works. Your credit can determine where you live, your interest rate, whether or not you get a job, home, or car, and even how much you pay for insurance.

The same work ethic and discipline that I put into being the first in my family to graduate from college, positioning myself to get a great job in finance out of college, and also, but more importantly, being debt-free and building a healthy savings account, by the age of 27 with a 780 credit score, I dedicated myself in my free time the last year into learning everything there is to know about credit and how to position myself as a credit expert. This year Clever Credit Pros was born and the mission to serve others & change their financial lives began!

We’ve been able to impact the lives of clients in seven different states so far and plan to keep growing. We educate our clients on making better financial decisions, help them remove negative items from their credit history/report, and guide them on which accounts to open to add positive accounts to their credit report. We also partner with real estate professionals to help improve the credit of their clients and get them in position to purchase a home/business. We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t think opening any small business is ever a “smooth” or easy road. Every business comes with its own challenges. The best thing you can do is stay focused on your purpose, which for us is helping our clients change their lives. For me, coming from the corporate world, making the transition to entrepreneurship was difficult because success isn’t guaranteed & a paycheck isn’t guaranteed, but honestly, it has been the best choice I could have made. I love being able to spend time with my wife, working for myself and changing people’s lives, and building the business to be everything I envision. On hard days, that is what I always keep in mind.
