Today we’d like to introduce you to Becca Schwartz.
Hi Becca, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Becca and Justin Schwartz started Hungry Hotline in April 2020 as a quarantine project. After creating their first Tiktok in July, Hungry Hotline quickly gained popularity with early videos reaching over 1 million views. As Arizona natives, Becca and Justin love to use Hungry Hotline as a way to support local business and spread the word about new and exciting experiences across the Valley.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The biggest challenge has been dealing with mean comments on TikTok. At first, these comments would really bother us. But now, I feel like we have seen it all and can let them roll off our backs.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Recently, we posted a TikTok video highlighting a small local restaurant. The next day, the restaurant received so much business from the video that they ran out of food! This has happened a handful of times and it is an incredible feeling when a restaurant owner reaches out saying that they have one of their best sales weekends ever after we posted about them. It feels great to help small local businesses, especially after COVID!
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Whenever we show up to an event or meeting, people are usually surprised by our height difference when they see us in person! Justin is 6’5 and I (Becca) am 4’10.
