Hi Avery, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I grew up immersed in the family business, helping my mother with administrative tasks. This early exposure led to a career in finance. After gaining experience in insurance as a licensed broker, we founded our tax firm, DNA Financial Solutions. The early years were challenging, marked by long hours and determination. A pivotal moment came during the COVID-19 pandemic when I returned home from my college football career and supported my mom in the business during her illness. I experienced significant growth, reaching a six-figure milestone. Since then, we’ve continued to expand and evolve our services and vision.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We have had many ups and downs. The location we were at for years, became a homeless highway so my mom didn’t feel safe at all due to confrontation. During our 3rd year, the management company made significant changes and changed the dynamic of the property. We also had to become more intentional with the type of services and switch up our target marked from the individual which took a year to reposition ourselves. We also experience what most entrepreneurs experience: understanding the value of services and the importance of understanding pricing. All of these concepts and experiences take time and we are meeting each challenge as an opportunity for growth.
