Inspiring Conversations with Ashley Wise

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Wise.

Hi Ashley, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Photography was a part of my childhood and in many ways, it got me here. My mom had a camera and I would always take any chance I got to take photos with it, it was one of my many joys. I was often found looking at old photos and all the photo albums in the house. But, when I was in 8th grade, I bought my very first camera and from there, I always had my camera with me. I started taking family photos when I was a sophomore in high school, and from there my business grew.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being a young photographer in Arizona is defiantly a challenge because there are already so many businesses that have been built up and are running successfully. But, letting comparison get in the way would have just driven me to failure, so instead I focused on being unique and putting myself out there as much as possible.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
The goal I have more my business is to capture the joy of my clients. Whether that is a wedding, family portraits, a senior session, or a companies branding shoot, capturing joy is the goal. Putting the client first is always a priority that sets me apart from other photographers, as it is their investment and my job to take timeless photos. I am very proud of the community that I have built over the years. It was very important to me that my clients feel comfortable and trust me with their investment, and that is made by shaping a strong community.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
The Phoenix area has great potential for photography and many different varieties of food, architecture, and some awesome vintage stores. Phoenix is starting to become a major hot spot and it is getting more crowded, and I would say that’s a negative.
