Inspiring Conversations with Ashley Boyd of Brujas, Blunts, and Everything Inbetween

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Boyd.

Hi Ashley, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, how can you bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Well, how I got here, it all started with my son. After my brother’s passing, I realized I wanted to make a conscious effort to live better. I was making small changes from foods, to body care products, to the daily things I used on my son. Shortly after returning to Arizona, I decided to attend school as a Licensed Massage Therapist. Which truly ended up being the catalyst and stepping stone for where I am today. I liked energy work because, I loved how you could manipulate energy in the body . This led me to become certified as a reiki practitioner. During this time, I also realized I come from a long line of shamans, doulas, psychics, and mediums. So everything truly started to mesh well on its own. I was so taken back. My son had an incident happen that led to his skin breaking out. At the time, I didn’t have the funds to keep buying the needed products, so why not make these things? Not only did it help to take the scarring and inflammation away, it did so in a short amount of time. Growing up, I had eczema, and access to these things was unheard of. This was the journey. The moment I had solidified the birth of Brujas, Blunts, and Everything Inbetween. I went on to make spiritual oils, tapping into my ancestral psychic gifts, creating an array of skin care products, offering reiki sessions, and much much more. Now, I’ve released 5 different spiritual oils, and more to come. Body butter, at one point Yoni (feminine) wash, Yoni steams, I’ve released 2 oracle decks, published two poetry books, and started my Podcast, “What’s Up Under That.” All this couldn’t have been possible without my brother and son’s push.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Respectfully, hell no, this road hasn’t been smooth, lol. The one thing I’ve learned is healing is not linear. It’s a lot like in high school, where you take mini quizzes and get a big final, whether in business or a spiritual one. Or your personal life, there’s always something to be learned, to go back over, to see from a different perspective. Especially with my business, well, I like to call it my practice, as I am a practitioner. There’s been grief over not processing my brother’s passing, having to take multiple breaks for the sake of my mental health, realizing as I’ve grown I no longer resonated with aspects of my business, learning that I’m neurodivergent, having to shed the girl I once was to step into who I’m becoming which has included losing friends, releasing old toxic habits that inhibited my growth, and having to cut off family. I’m grateful for the amazing people I’ve met along this journey. All the obstacles and challenges I’ve faced have only made me even stronger. It gave me a sense of clarity and helped me to, hopefully, better assist others along their journey, as many others have done for me.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Brujas, Blunts, and Everything Inbetween?
I want people to know this isn’t just a business. It’s a lifestyle. When you work with me, whether listening to a podcast episode, ordering my self-care deck, reading one of my poems, getting a reading done, receiving a reiki session, or even my products. The minute you chose me, you’re choosing to heal, to dig deeper. You decided to be 1% better than you were yesterday, and that shit isn’t easy. It takes a lot of courage and it takes a lot of bravery.

What sets me apart is I want the people I work with to feel like family or friends. I hate when things feel like a transaction. I can’t hold your hand or do the work for you. Only you can choose to do that. But I can help you to see there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I Can give you the tools to dig and see who you truly are, who you’re meant to be, and what you’ve been running from. I was essentially setting my soul free to be the best version of myself. The biggest thing I’m proud of is my resilience. With myself, but with my brand. No matter if my social media presence has shifted or if I’ve rebranded 5/6/7 times. What I stand for has always remained the same. Why I do what I do has never changed. I can truly say even when things have shifted in terms of the products I offer, I’ve strived to bring my customers, clients, and many more an experience that money can’t buy. That’s authenticity. Me showing the world through my brand it’s okay to be you. You don’t have to be curated, edited, or trimmed to be accepted. You will find who you’re meant to align with by being you.

As far as what I offer, I do some of everything. I’m currently studying to a little bit of everything to better sign me further with my post, and I’m on hiatus. But other ways to work with me are purchasing my Womb Reiki, any of my oracle decks, and my angel number e-book “Kosmic Kodes: 101 Kodes” If you want to give it a go at making your spiritual oils: purchase that e-book. Along with buying any of my poetry books, along with my newest book, “The Void.” All of these resources can be found through the link in my Instagram. When I return, I will offer more custom work, 1:1 sessions, personal readings/Reiki sessions, new episodes to my podcast, and much more as I hone in and perfect my crafts. Those are just a few ways in which you can support me or work with me.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I’ve had so much support in unexpected ways. Between random strangers I’ve met online, customers who have become family, my ancestors, and most of all, my son. My biggest support this year I’d have to say, would be my best friend, Taylor. As my business has ridden the highs and lows and I’ve grown as a person, she’s inspired me to stay true to myself, to do things because they make me happy, and not just to release a product. Another friend is Bunny Roberts; she’s helped me rebrand my business and find who I truly am. For the longest, I did not align with my business colors. Working with her gave me the idea of where I wanted to go. My friend, Ty Simpson she’s been the safe space I never knew I needed. Constantly pushing me to operate out of love and strive to be one with myself. However, that may look. My friend MaKayla Guerriero. She’s been here since the birth of Brujas, Blunts, and Everything Inbetween. When I was a massage therapist transitioning into energy work, she supported that difficult decision. Massage was my passion, but energy work is my destiny. I’ve had quite a few mentors over the last 5 years, Isabelle Grace Li, Bunny Roberts, Tiffany Posh, and my spirit guides, to name a few (I’m horrible with names). These women are who have helped me become who I am today.

Last but not least, my mother. For the times the kitchen was a disaster from making body butter at 3 am, watching my son while I was in school, helping with him when I was on leave from my business, down to me turning our entire dining room into my workstation. I can’t thank her enough for the help she’s provided to helping my business grow over the last 7 years. I say 7 because Brujas, Blunts, and Everything Inbetween were born the day I had my son.
