Inspiring Conversations with Andie Arquisola of Injector Andie Medical Aesthetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andie Arquisola.

Andie Arquisola

Hi, Andie. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Manila, Philippines, and moved to Phoenix, Arizona, in 2010. I was a single mother of a special needs child when I came to the United States. My mom told me my child would have a better future here in America, which motivated me to move here. While going through nursing school, I worked as a certified nurse assistant and medical administrative assistant and did bridal makeup as a side gig. After graduating with my BSN, I worked bedside in the Progressive Care and Psych units. Eventually, I transitioned to working in a Plastic Surgery clinic, and that is when my career in aesthetics started. I’ve always been passionate about art, anything aesthetically pleasing to the eyes and helping people. So art plus medical combined – why not? I took facial anatomy classes seriously and studied facial structures and how human skin ages. I took a few certification courses specializing in injectables, skin health, and wellness and also got myself a few mentors in the aesthetics industry whom I am truly grateful for! I am a mom to 3 kids, have a very supportive and loving husband and business partner (going on 12 years together!), we have 3 dogs; I still work full time at Banner Behavioral Health, run a med-spa business, and just started grad school for my Family Nurse Practitioner program. Though I have a lot on my plate, I remain grateful and optimistic about the future. All glory remains to God for using me to help others.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My biggest challenges throughout the years are overcoming the fear of the unknown and the “mom guilt” when I don’t feel as connected to my children or spouse when life gets busy. I have never owned a business and always worked for someone, but my husband and friends believed in my craft! So, they are the ones that pushed me to pursue opening my own business in medical aesthetics. Everything is a learning experience as I go, and I am having fun doing it. I also learned that the hustle and bustle of life is not the way to go because you will get burnt out if you don’t learn to slow down and appreciate where you’re at currently. I make sure to prioritize family time, which has helped alleviate the mom’s guilt. I remind myself that although my purpose in life is to bring wellness and help others feel and look good, my family will always be my top priority, and everything I do is for them in the long run.

Thanks for sharing that. So, next, you can tell us more about your work.
Injector Andie aims to help people not just to look good but also to feel good from within. We’d like to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
Luck combines hard work, dedication, talent, passion, and perspective. Everything I have today was not handed to me, but I believe I earned it. It did not happen overnight. Rather, it happened throughout the years. I experienced rejection, failures, trial and error, and I chose to learn from it all. – That is a part of personal and professional growth. I think that God has blessed me with such talent and skills to execute for a greater purpose; to me, that’s what I would call ‘luck.”
