Hi Amy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started Chatterbox with a clear vision: to create a PR agency that could balance professional success with personal fulfillment. After working in the corporate world for years, I realized I needed a career that allowed me to prioritize my family while still pursuing my passion for storytelling and brand building. As a single mom, it was important to me to create a work-life balance that worked for my boys and me.

What began as a solo venture quickly grew into a thriving agency specializing in baby, kid, and lifestyle brands. I’ve always been passionate about helping brands tell their unique stories, and over time, I honed my niche in securing media placements, celebrity endorsements, and product visibility on TV and in movies.

Chatterbox’s success stems from our boutique approach combined with the resources and connections of a larger agency. I’ve been fortunate to partner with incredible clients, deliver impactful campaigns, and stay at the forefront of industry trends. Today, I’m proud to say we’ve built an agency that not only drives results but also genuinely cares about the brands we represent and the people behind them.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road hasn’t always been smooth, but the challenges have been valuable learning experiences. One of the biggest obstacles has been navigating potential clients’ budgets. Often, they want the visibility and credibility PR brings but are unsure how to allocate resources effectively to achieve those goals. Educating them on the value of investing in PR as a tool to build long-term brand awareness, rather than a quick-fix sales strategy, has been key.

Another challenge is addressing the common misconception that PR equals sales. Many clients come in expecting immediate, tangible results like revenue spikes, but PR is about creating trust, visibility, and third-party credibility that ultimately supports sales. It’s a shift in mindset from short-term outcomes to long-term brand growth, and it takes time to reframe what clients may have been told before.

These hurdles have helped me refine my approach to working with clients, ensuring they not only understand the value of PR but also see how it aligns with their bigger business goals.

Over the last 18 months, I’ve made a conscious effort to invest in myself and my community, and it has truly been a game changer. Joining a mastermind and working with a business coach have provided the guidance and support I didn’t even realize I needed. Entrepreneurship can be lonely at times, but being surrounded by like-minded individuals who challenge, inspire, and cheer you on has been transformative.

My business coach has helped me refine my vision and pushed me to step into my role as an expert. The mastermind community has been a safe space to share challenges, exchange ideas, and celebrate wins—big or small.

I also owe a lot of my success to my clients, who trust me to bring their stories to life. Their faith in my expertise keeps me motivated and inspired to deliver my best work every day.

Lastly, I have to thank my family and close friends who have been my constant cheerleaders. Their unwavering support and encouragement have carried me through the ups and downs of running a business. Having this incredible network of mentors, advocates, and supporters has not only fueled my growth but also made the journey so much more fulfilling.
