Inspiring Conversations with Stephanie Greenfield of The Bray Team & The Home Connection

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Greenfield

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born and raised in Phoenix, one of the few natives still left! I grew up in a real estate family – mom is/was/has always been a Realtor and dad in construction. When I turned 18, I got my real estate license because that’s what you do in our family. I practiced real estate every now and again throughout college, but graduated from Arizona State (go Devils). I graduated summa cum laude from Barrett, the Honors College and W.P. Carey School of Business with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Bachelor of Science in Management. I was also honored to receive the Moeur Award when I graduated. From there, I spent a brief couple years working in executive compensation consulting in Los Angeles. Intense working hours, amazing people, fabulous food…but all the while, I couldn’t wait to move back to the Valley. When I did, I jumped into real estate full-time and haven’t looked back. I’ve also recently started a company called The Home Connection…we have a 12-month planner just for real estate agents focused on helping them accelerate their businesses.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The real estate industry can be a rollercoaster…emotionally, mentally, physically, and even business-wise. I’ve learned a lot over the years about how to smooth out that rollercoaster. One challenge I faced early on is the illusive “work-life balance” that corporate America teaches us early on to crave. I actually believe in this concept less and less over time as my work has become something that I enjoy a lot. “Work” is an intricate part of my life, not a 9-5 job I can come and go from. So often my clients become (or already are) my friends so showing them homes and helping them through these complex processes is rewarding and fun for me. Obviously I can’t write contracts 24 hours of the day though so I use tools like time-blocking to manage my hours and get in much needed time with my family and pups.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I am currently running two awesome businesses – the first is my real estate team, the Bray Team at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices. We help buyers, sellers, renters, and investors buy/sell/rent/invest in real estate all throughout the state of Arizona and all over the country. We pride ourselves on being extremely communicative, educational, thorough, and fun! I am incredibly proud to say that we were ranked the top team in the Camelback office each month of 2020. We were also ranked the #16 team in all of Berkshire Hathaway Realtors in Arizona. The Home Connection is a company I co-founded with one of my best friends, Rachel Tarman. It is a company focused on accelerating the growth of real estate agents. It is through The Home Connection that we launched our 12 month real estate planner. It is an undated 12-month calendar with monthly/weekly scheduling, time blocking, 365 days of social media ideas, and 52 real estate video ideas. Getting organized and staying focused is key to a successful real estate business and Rachel and I have devoted lots of time to helping Realtors improve and take off.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
One word: nerd. I was definitely the nerd in school…always got my homework done and got straight A’s. This comes through a lot now in my work honestly – I love to make spreadsheets, flowcharts of the real estate process, and putting together marketing proposals for my clients. As a kid, I loved (and still do) listening to new music and discovering new bands. Though I have to say, my favorite album of all time is Transatlanticism by Death Cab for Cutie (OK…it is STILL my all time favorite!).
