Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Riley.

Hi Jennifer, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always wanted to start my own business but didn’t know what type of business to start. I was managing four companies for my previous boss as well as managing his personal affairs. I felt like I could be applying that same energy towards my own business and really began exploring my options. After removing my braces, I had diamonds applied on my teeth. I received so many compliments and people inquiring about where I had this procedure done, so I decided to become a certified tooth gem technician.

Once I started applying tooth gems and attending events, many people would tell me that they would love the gems on their teeth but wish their teeth were whiter. At that point, I decided to become a certified teeth whitening technician. This business has really blossomed and I feel that it really suits me because dentistry runs in my blood. My grandfather is a retired dentist and all of my aunts are dentists, orthodontists and pedodontists. I only wish I would’ve gone to school much sooner to become a dentist as well but I do feel like I’m following my families footsteps by brightening individual lives one smile at a time.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Covid had an impact on my business esp because people began to wear masks and their smiles did not show and people were nervous about the virus and, of course, the close contact. But during the pandemic, I’ve still received many customers and have been able to keep my business afloat.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I offer teeth whitening and teeth gems. My product is safe and is hydrogen peroxide-based. I really take pride in my customer service and how I treat my clients and making sure they feel great when they complete their service. A brighter smile is an excellent way to boost your confidence. I generally respond to all of my clients within an hour or less and have a way of making my clients feel comfortable when they are in my chair, even if they were nervous when they first walked in.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Making sure that my clients are satisfied and comfortable. I know that many people are afraid of the dentist and have the same feeling when whitening their teeth. I make sure that I explain everything thoroughly and check on them frequently throughout the process. Customer service is number one to me because the way you make someone feel is something they will always remember.

• $30 for one gem, 2 for $50, $15 each additional gem
• $80 one hour whitening session
• $65 30 min whitening session
