Today we’d like to introduce you to Ellie Paget.

Hi Ellie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Whats up HomeSlice? Im a mom of three, livin the dream in Scottsdale Arizona. I love what I do for my company as Chief Creativist Officer. Basically, I sprinkle a bunch of ideas throughout the business of Vacation Rental Management to make it awesome for guests and home owners. I love what I do! Its alot of fun to have properties across the country that Ive been apart of from inception.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
There are hills and valleys in life. The biggest detriment to success along the way was my own personal journey of self-discovery. I think that, as I’ve reflected on those huge wins and losses, each failure made a monumental step up onto the next path. Did I get to my current stage the fastest way possible? No, I took the scenic route, which some could reason is the better one. In hindsight, asking for a mentor earlier on in my career development phase might have gotten me here faster instead I desired to be a chef and let the hospitality industry teach me discipline. I was an Asian American woman in a male-dominated industry, where sexism and culture wars were prominent regularly. That was not always easy to get my point across but Im kind of determined and wont take no for an answer.

We’ve been impressed with HomeSlice Stays, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Vacation Rental Management, design and acquisition. We keep it simple because we want to focus on all the difficult aspects for our amazing clients. HomeSlice Stays a hospitality management company that is focused on luxury collections of extraordinary experiential homes. This isn’t about being a transactional company focused on making a dollar. It is about putting ourselves into your hearts, homes and shoes, taking the steps with you along the way. We won many awards in 2020, DestinationAire as well as AltoVita finalist for Best Property Management in North America. It’s humbling to see we are making waves, and this year, 2021, we will be partnering with a non-profit organization to give back with each stay. Although HomeSlice sits on the board of advisory for ASTRHO (Association for Short Term Rentals Home Owners), TreeWalkers, AtlIst and DACK, we still want to contribute funds to the overall good of the community. We also just loaded up some amazing homes with Mount Electric Scooters!

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
DETERMINATION hands down.

We all, over the expansion of our lives, need to be committed to a process. Every day is the gradual gathering of consistent moments that become that overall story of life. It is not instant gratification. There’s are heavier points and lighter points and they all don’t have any more or less significance. Each day you show up counts. How you show up counts how you arrive counts. To me, the ability to achieve success is born from being able to make celebrate those milestones of tenacity. I’d call this deeper meaning the development of long-term characteristic behaviors and my relationship to success culture. The needlessness for affirmation because it’s within. Competency of how I achieved victories and how to share those with others who need to hear it. Being able to recognize who to talk to when I am not aware of blind spots. It is about making the best of the present, failures and all—also, the ability to unlearn and relearn. I can’t count how many “experts” I have had to re-train. There’s no cookie-cutter model for the end all be all of truth and knowledge. In business it’s constantly changing.
