Imena Villegas’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Imena Villegas. Check out our conversation below.

Imena, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
To me, the most important of these three is integrity. While the other two are of very high value, they can be used negatively without integrity.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Imena Villegas, and I am a self-taught artist and lover of stories. I have been painting for as long as I can remember, and always admired how powerful art can be. By creating art I am able to express myself, and by sharing it, I have grown more confident in myself. I hope that, by sharing my art, I can inspire others to create, and find more magic in everyday life as well.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
I believe that, besides being harmful and deceitful, bonds between people are broken when there is a lack of understanding. These bonds are mended when we not only understand, but accept each other.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self that she is capable of wonderful things, and that she shouldn’t be afraid of her potential.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Honestly, the public version of me is not the most authentic me. I tend to hide my personality in public. I’m working on being more authentic when I’m in public. It allows for deeper connections to be built.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope that people share stories of how I inspired them. I hope that people are so impacted by the stories I tell, that they get the courage to tell their own.
