Today we’d like to introduce you to Wendy Bates.
Hi Wendy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
As a naïve teenager, I was pregnant and married at 17. I dropped out of high school and spent several difficult years navigating an abusive relationship, raising a child, working three low-paying jobs, and making poor choices. After my divorce, and with the support of friends and family, I began moving in a more positive direction—starting with earning my GED. Known for being smart, reliable, and hardworking, I often started in entry-level positions and steadily worked my way up to better-paying lead or management roles across various industries.
I bought my first home at 28 and remarried at 36. Now at 58, I’m a proud mother of two grown children and a grandmother to one. I’ve worked full-time as a Project Manager for the past 15 years, and my employer generously funded my education, allowing me to earn an Associate Degree in Business Administration – Management.
Two years ago, I was looking for a way to fill my free time and earn extra income. An advertisement for a Notary Public class caught my attention—it offered flexible hours in the late afternoons, evenings, weekends, and even into retirement. After completing the course, I launched my own business: Arizona Notary On the Go, LLC.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My journey has not been easy. Life is challenging—and it was especially difficult during my younger years. I faced constant financial struggles, living paycheck to paycheck while trying to manage medical bills, maintain reliable transportation, afford daycare, and cover rent and groceries. Without the support of my family, those years would have been even harder. Still, I showed up every day, worked hard, and gradually began to improve my circumstances.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Arizona Notary On the Go LLC?
Today, I work as a Project Manager for a leading loan servicing software company, where I plan to remain until retirement. I also own and operate Arizona Notary On the Go LLC, serving as a certified, bonded, insured, and dependable mobile Notary Public in Arizona. I provide notary and signing agent services throughout Gold Canyon, Apache Junction, Mesa, San Tan Valley, Queen Creek, Gilbert, Chandler, Florence, Coolidge, Queen Valley, Superior, Miami, and Globe.
My mobile notary services include loan closings, authorizations, affidavits, powers of attorney, estate planning documents, wills, trusts, and more. Arizona Notary On the Go offers 24-hour emergency mobile notarizations. What I’m most proud of—and what truly sets me apart—is my ability to respond quickly and offer services outside of standard business hours. As a mobile notary, I meet clients wherever is most convenient for them, ensuring flexibility and personalized service.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I’m just a phone call away! While I prefer appointments in the late afternoon or on weekends, I can be available at other times as well. The best way to support my business is by sharing my contact information with others. There are many notaries in the area, so recommending me whenever possible would mean a great deal and help my business grow.
