Today we’d like to introduce you to Victor Villalta.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
I began Dog Kartel to provide authentic sausages and beef dogs to offer what Tucson still needs to include. My mission is to master the delicious tastes of dogs from Hawaii, Chicago, New York, and even Tucson. I prioritize quality and use premium meats with fresh fruits, vegetables, and locally baked bread. I have 4 awesome children and 2 lovely dogs. I appreciate the support from everyone along my journey, and I can’t help but enjoy the smile on my customer’s faces after they take a bite.
Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Everyone tries to or hopes to be a smooth sale; along the way are the unforeseen bumps like getting in line with the county codes and regulatory requirements, and that can take some time and will cause some delays. As you will continue moving forward, it is recommended to be patient; as for my personal experience, it took me 6 months from the day our hot dog cart was purchased to when it was officially ready to do business.
Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Dog Kartel was created with dogs in mind. We have 3 blue-nose pit bulls, and they have different personalities; what do I do? I love to meditate is part of a daily routine, and one of the dogs (blue) has routinely been meditating along with me. What set me apart? Feeding the community is not all about the bottom line; we meet many individuals, some of who would appreciate good street food and some less unfortunate, like the homeless. However, if you are hungry, we feed you regardless of whether you can afford our hotdog. About our brand or services, Dog Kartel always upholds quality. We will continue bringing our great-tasting recipes at price people can afford and have a positive impact on their taste buds.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Risks are a way of communicating to yourself; you are about to go to unknown territory, and you must embrace it 110 %. If you are unsure, act as if you are doing business already, see yourself doing good, and keep a positive attitude in any obstacles; obstacles are an opportunity to be or get better at what you wish for.
