Hidden Gems: Meet Tommye Jordan of CPR Solutions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tommye Jordan. 

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
CPR Solutions started as one lone Instructor teaching one on one classes every evening after my normal job teaching at a local vocational college. My business grew via word of mouth and referrals from those happy with the CPR class they received. From there I grew large enough to be considered a Training Site, training other Instructors to help me teach classes and teach their own classes. After about 4 years I became the Training Center Coordinator for Sun Health Boswell and Del Webb campuses. Upon the transition from Sun Health to Boswell, the American Heart Association granted CPR Solutions AHA Training Center status which we have been since 2009. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My transition from American Heart Association Training Site to Training Center was smoother than most since the Training Center I was originally with shut down. I basically just absorbed their business. Many people struggle for years to become a Training Center and some struggle without ever being able to be a Training Center. The competition in our area is fierce. Since the curriculum is basically the same, we had to differentiate ourselves by providing superior customer service before, after, and during our CPR classes.

CPR Solutions is an American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center based out of Surprise, AZ. 

There are many AHA Training Centers throughout Arizona but CPR Solutions strives to be the highest quality with the best customer service. Most people don’t take a CPR class because they want to. They typically take a CPR class because it’s required for work or school. Many of these same individuals have taken a CPR class multiple times in order to renew their certification so we don’t want to just offer “another CPR class”. We don’t want you to just remember 30 compressions and two breaths. We want you to remember that you have the skills to provide “high-quality” CPR. 

Many of our students exclaim that CPR Solutions classes are the best classes they’ve ever taken and would never go anywhere else. Returning customers is the best validation of a job well done! 

What matters most to you? Why?
The impact we make on the community. A situation requiring CPR can occur anywhere. It is our goal to make certain that every student that we teach is prepared to go out into the community and assist a person in need when it matters the most.
