Hidden Gems: Meet Taylor Williams of Trinity Mental Health

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Williams.

Hi Taylor, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My passion for mental health began in 2012 as a college student navigating the challenges of transitioning to college life. Seeking support, I connected with inspiring graduate student counselors, which led me to switch my major and fully commit to the field of psychology. In 2020, my employer sent me to my first EMDR training, sparking my specialization and passion. Since then, I’ve pursued advanced EMDR training and am proud to be EMDR certified today. Over the past two years, I’ve focused my private practice on providing online EMDR therapy to adults, specializing in treating narcissistic abuse.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Adapting to the evolving landscape of mental health since COVID has been both humbling and challenging. The shift to telehealth, coupled with the need to connect with clients who are more informed and discerning than ever, has pushed me to grow. Clients today thoughtfully choose therapists who align with their needs in this discerning economy, and I’ve learned that being a general practitioner is no longer enough. Specializing in a niche you’re passionate about isn’t just a buzzword—it’s the way forward. I initially thought “niching down” was an overused phrase, but I’ve seen firsthand how it resonates deeply with clients seeking tailored support. Additionally, keeping up with AI integration into search engines for marketing has been a steep learning curve. Understanding how to optimize my online presence to reach clients in this tech-driven world has been essential, especially as the stigma around therapy fades and more people seek help.
It’s easy to feel like the field is moving faster than you can keep up, but I’ve learned that these changes are exciting opportunities to grow. If I can navigate telehealth, niche specialization, and AI-driven marketing, any therapist can. To those feeling like they’re not reaching clients right now, know that your passion and willingness to adapt can open doors to connect with those who need you most. Keep learning, stay true to what drives you, and trust that this evolving field holds space for all of us to make a difference.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Trinity Mental Health ?
At Trinity Trauma Therapy, I provide specialized online EMDR, focusing on helping individuals heal from narcissistic abuse and complex trauma. My practice is built on a deep commitment to creating a safe, compassionate, and empowering space for clients to process their experiences and discover their real selves.

Based in Scottsdale, I offer virtual sessions to residents of AZ, CA, and FL. I am dedicated to making trauma therapy accessible, convenient, and tailored to each client’s unique needs.

My experience as a EMDR therapist means there’s nothing you’re going to say that will cause me to judge or abandon you. You won’t scare me off and you won’t need to explain yourself.

I also understand that trauma is ANY experience that negatively impacts you. An event does not have to make news headlines to be considered trauma. You will never need to justify your experiences as “bad enough”.

You may have tried therapy before, only to feel like you couldn’t be fully honest or get to the core issues. You’ve been through a lot, and you deserve a therapist who understands your needs and helps you get results.

You are not who they made you out to be. Let’s get to know the real you. Get started for free at trinitytraumatherapy.com

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
The name Trinity Mental Health is a reflection of my personal faith, and my reason for being a therapist. I am not a Christian counselor and I do not provide faith-based therapy. I am a trauma therapist who finds strength in Jesus when things seem especially dark.

Therefore I am clear in the name of my practice that I am an EMDR trauma therapist who is a Christian.
