Hidden Gems: Meet Taylor Haller of Haller House of Chiropractic PLLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Haller.

Hi Taylor, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Thank you so much for the opportunity to share my story 🙂

I found my way into chiropractic because it completely transformed my own health. I was struggling with several chronic conditions that were affecting my daily life, and traditional medicine, while well-intentioned, didn’t offer much more than a diagnosis and a handful of prescriptions. Nothing actually helped me get better.

Then I found chiropractic. Within just a few months of care, I felt clearer, pain-free, and more like myself than I had in years. I was even able to come off my medications—and for the first time in a long time, I felt hopeful and excited about my future. That experience was so profound, I knew I wanted to give others that same opportunity for healing and transformation.

My boyfriend (now husband) and I packed up our lives and moved halfway across the country so I could begin chiropractic school. The journey wasn’t easy—chiropractic education is incredibly rigorous. For those who may not realize it, the doctoral program demands a deep understanding of anatomy, neurology, physiology, and so much more. It’s every bit as challenging as it is rewarding.

While I was a student, I saw a horse getting adjusted on campus—and it immediately clicked. I thought, “DUH”. Animals have spines, nervous systems, and physical stressors just like we do. I was flabbergasted and thought “why didn’t I realize this sooner?!” As a child, I had actually considered becoming a veterinarian, but the idea of euthanasia never sat well with me. So, when I discovered that I could work with animals in a way that was healing and life-giving, I knew I’d found my path.

After graduating, I practiced as a human chiropractor and eventually also as a functional medicine practitioner. I loved the ability to dive deep into root causes and provide whole-person care. But when the opportunity came to become certified in animal chiropractic, I jumped at it.

It was a rigorous and demanding program—over 200 exams, countless hours of hands-on and academic training, and a final, intensive board exam to earn certification through the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association. It really pushed me in ways I didn’t expect, but the payoff of being able to help animals feel better made every bit of the effort worth it. There’s truly nothing more helpless than watching your pet feel awful and not being able to do anything about it—especially when it’s late at night and you’re counting down the hours until morning. That wait can feel excruciating. But after becoming certified, I knew I’d always have a way to help my kitties feel better and function better, no matter the time of day. It’s a feeling that has lifted a huge weight off my shoulders over the years. Their health has skyrocketed since being under care – they are vibrantly healthy, and I am SO incredibly grateful for that.

Every day, I get to open my doors to animals who literally wiggle with excitement because they know they’re about to feel better. The joy they bring into my life is immeasurable. And the relief their owners feel—when their beloved companions are no longer in pain—is something I’ll never take for granted. I feel incredibly grateful to play a small but powerful role in the lives of these pets and their people.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The path has had its ups and downs, but every obstacle helped me grow into the practitioner I am today.

It took a lot of courage to leave behind what was familiar, move across the country, and dive headfirst into a doctoral program. Thankfully, I didn’t do it alone. My now-husband was right there beside me through it all. He supported me wholeheartedly, packing up our lives, making the move, and standing by me through the most challenging days when I wasn’t sure I could keep going. He even stepped away from a blossoming career in professional sports to support me and my goals, which speaks volumes about his heart and the belief he had our future. His encouragement pushed me to aim higher and not sell myself short. With his support, I stepped into leadership roles I never imagined for myself, including serving as Vice President of the Lambda Kappa Chi chiropractic technique sorority and becoming an ACE Intern—an advanced clinical intern with specialized training in chiropractic technique. Those experiences shaped not only my confidence but also my skillset as a doctor.

The coursework was intense—anatomy, neurology, pathology, differential diagnosis, ortho/neuro, radiology, adjusting techniques (just to name a few)—and there were times I felt completely overwhelmed. It’s a level of difficulty that surprises many people who don’t realize how academically demanding the path to becoming a chiropractor really is.

There were also financial struggles, personal sacrifices, and moments of deep self-doubt all while navigating a grueling academic schedule. And like many who choose to follow a non-traditional healing path, I also faced skepticism about whether what I was doing was “real” or worthwhile.

Later, when I decided to expand into animal chiropractic, the challenges didn’t stop. Balancing continuing education, working full-time, traveling back and forth between states, and studying for over 200 exams was no small feat. And launching a practice that blends human chiropractic, functional medicine, and animal chiropractic came with its own steep learning curve. But it was a challenge I welcomed wholeheartedly—because I knew it would allow me to serve in a truly meaningful way.

I keep coming back to my “why”: helping people and animals feel better, function better, and live more vibrant lives. More often than I ever imagined, I find myself as the last hope—the final stop before a family is faced with a heartbreaking decision about their beloved pet. And to everyone’s relief, many times we’re able to help that pet not only feel better, but go on to enjoy more time, more comfort, and more joy with their family. That purpose keeps me grounded, even when the road gets bumpy or uncertain. And looking back, I’m proud of every step—even the hard ones—because they brought me to this work I love so deeply.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Haller House of Chiropractic, our focus is on providing a holistic approach to health and wellness—one that blends human chiropractic, functional medicine, and animal chiropractic. Our practice is built on the belief that healing goes beyond just treating symptoms; it’s about addressing the root causes of pain and dysfunction and supporting the body’s innate ability to heal itself.

What sets us apart is the integration of these three specialties. As both a chiropractor and a functional medicine practitioner, I’m able to look at the body from multiple angles. I don’t just focus on one part of the body or one type of care—I take a whole-person approach that considers how the systems of the body work together. And with animal chiropractic, I’m able to extend that healing approach to animals, helping them live pain-free, more vibrant lives alongside their families.

What I’m most proud of, brand-wise, is the trust we’ve built with clients—both human and animal. I’ve seen firsthand how meaningful this work is when it helps a family keep their beloved pet, or when someone who’s been living with chronic pain finally finds relief. The bond I’ve formed with my clients has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my career.

Owners tell me all the time that their pet knows my name and gets excited when it’s time for their appointment. Opening the waiting room door and being greeted by happy, wiggly, tail-wagging animals absolutely makes my day—it never gets old. They know who I am and what I do, and it tickles me every time. I call them my friends, because that’s what they are—true friends who love you and show it the second they see you. They jump on me, kiss me, and light up with joy. I get more kisses (doggy kisses) in a day than I ever imagined, and it’s one of the sweetest parts of what I do.

I want readers to know that our practice is centered on empathy, expertise, and a deep respect for the body’s natural ability to heal. I’m here to offer personalized, compassionate care, and to be a resource for those who may not have found solutions through traditional medicine. Whether it’s through chiropractic adjustments, functional medicine, or animal chiropractic, I’m dedicated to helping people and pets lead healthier, more comfortable lives.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories was the night my parents surprised us with a new puppy after we had lost our two beloved Rottweilers. At the time, I wasn’t sure if we’d ever have pets again, so it was completely unexpected. They woke us up and brought us downstairs, and there he was—a tiny, perfect little pup. We were ecstatic. I remember all of us walking outside in the dark so he could go to the bathroom. We stood around him in a big circle, just watching him take it all in. I squatted down, and the second I did, he ran straight to me. From that moment on, he became one of the best parts of my childhood. I loved him so much, and I miss him to this day…I love you Wolfgang.
It’s hard to accept that our time with them is always so short—it’s never enough. But the love they give us while they’re here is beyond measure. And now, as I work with animals, I’m continually reminded of how precious that time truly is. Every day, I’m blessed to help pets feel better and function better, even in the short time we have with them. To watch them move without pain, to see them run and play with joy—it’s a gift, and I don’t take it for granted. I feel such a profound sense of gratitude for being able to make a real difference in their lives, even if just for a little while. It’s truly one of the most fulfilling parts of my work, and I consider it an honor to share in those moments with both the animals and their families.
