Today we’d like to introduce you to Suzi Freeman. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Hey there, you beautiful human! Welcome to the wild world of Suzi – a momma to five fantabulous kids, a husky wrangler, and a grandma who’s cooler than your average ice cube! In an epic quest to protect her sons, who have chosen high-risk professions (think military and police officer roles), Suzi ventured into the realm of suicide prevention. Little did she know, her battle with suicidal ideation was lurking just around the corner, waiting to be confronted.
With a dash of perseverance and a pinch of self-discovery, Suzi conquered her inner demons, realizing that her childhood traumas had been playing a sneaky game of hide-and-seek all along. If only she’d had a trusty mental health toolkit back then, she could’ve evaded the struggle entirely!
This epiphany supercharged Suzi’s mission to help today’s youth. Armed with Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Hypnotherapy, Mental Resilience Coaching, Emotional Intelligence Training, and Sound Healing skills (what a combo, right?), she’s become a fierce mentor for the younger generation. Focused on spreading mental health awareness, she’s like a ninja, teaching kids the skills and techniques they need to battle life’s challenges.
We can’t avoid life’s curveballs, but we sure can learn to juggle ’em! Suzi’s ultimate goal is to ensure no one ever reaches the point of suicidal ideation. Drawing from her own experiences and raising her fabulous five, Suzi is a certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming Master Practitioner, Master Hypnotherapist, QPR Certified Instructor, Mental Performance & EQ Coach, and Certified Sound Healer. In other words, she’s basically a superhero!

I should mention that I am 2023 Ms. Elite Arizona; I was invited into the Woman of Achievement Pageant system for my work in suicide prevention. I will compete for Ms. Elite US in January 2024.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Oh, my struggles were and still are learning to overcome and handle being a mom while growing a business and learning to work with how my childhood traumas have affected me in my adult life. Regarding my business, it is a hard topic, and people don’t particularly want to be or feel they need to be in the space of suicide prevention. I am getting past that, and people are starting to see the importance and the discretion that can be given, so it is getting easier to help.
We’ve been impressed with Suzi Freeman & Co, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I focus on suicide prevention and teen mental health awareness. I offer a few different things, most of them centered around teens:
1. The 988 Warrior Box.
The 988 Warrior Box is an innovative solution designed to support parents and teens in having an open and honest conversation about mental health and suicide.
This is a crucial conversation that many parents shy away from due to a lack of knowledge and fear of not knowing how to approach the subject in a sensitive and effective manner.
~Provide guidance on how to initiate the discussion on mental health & suicide
~How to recognize if your teen is in danger
~How to ask the important questions
~Provide resources on how to respond to and answer the hard questions
~Help you build trust and strong communication within the family unit
~We make this fun and enjoyable; there will be lots of laughs and memories made
~You and your family get certified in suicide recognition & prevention!
2. Fearless Next Gen Warriors Teen Mentorship:
Suzi is the fearless teen mentor who not only empowers teens but also coaches parents to have the confidence and trust to tackle those tough conversations with anyone! Suzi is your go-to guide for addressing challenging topics with both you and your teens.
Let’s face it – there are heaps of tricky subjects to discuss with your kids. I mean, remember that cringe-worthy attempt at the “birds and bees” talk with my teenage boys? Good times, but hey, it worked! Now they’re awesome young adults, building their careers without a baby in tow! And let’s not even get started on mental health and – yikes – SUICIDE! Nobody wants to dive into that conversation.
Here’s a secret, though – fear is the only thing holding you back from having these heart-to-hearts with your kids. Fear of initiating the conversation, and even more so, the fear of hearing an unexpected response – and not knowing how to deal with it.
I totally understand! But listen up: Fear breeds denial, which can lead to seriously frightening problems for you and your teen. Time to bridge that gap and make it enjoyable! We’re going to open up communication lines so smoothly that it’ll feel like no topic is off-limits.
Conversations will be approached with a fun-loving, non-confrontational vibe, and you’ll be equipped with the confidence to handle anything as a parent. Your teen will feel so secure and trusting that they might even start these conversations themselves after their mentorship with me! So let’s get the ball rolling and transform those tough talks into enjoyable and meaningful exchanges!
3. Suicide Prevention and Recognition Certification. I am a QPR certified Instructor, and I certify individuals, small and large groups, including school sports teams, business organizations, and private in-home certifications. With the QPR certification, I include how to reduce lethal means and a lesson on mental health awareness.
4. Limitless Girl Power Retreat: (October 2023):
The Limitless Girl Power Retreat is to bring together a small group of amazing teen girls who have been affected by suicide and let them know they are not alone. We are all about building strong, supportive relationships and empowering girls to communicate effectively and develop emotional intelligence skills and coping modalities to serve them for a lifetime.
And what better way to do all of this than in the gorgeous State of Arizona, where we’ll be glamping it up in cozy, stylish yurts with the plushest and most dreamy bedding you’ve ever seen! This retreat is about creating unforgettable memories and inspiring girls to be their best version.
5. Annual Teen Summit:
Get ready for Empower, Equip & Elevate: Teen Summit 2024, a fun-filled and transformative event crafted to inspire and bolster young people aged 12-17! This high-energy gathering focuses on building confidence, enhancing communication skills, and nurturing strong bonds among peers.
Through a thrilling lineup of expert speakers, interactive workshops, and exhilarating activities, participants will acquire essential life skills and unlock the power of effective communication, empowering them to overcome challenges and flourish in their personal and social lives.
What I want readers to understand most is that bringing awareness and knowledge is the key; this unlocks a person’s fear of the topic, which then allows them to interact and intervene if necessary, and that right there saves lives!
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I am an avid learner. I have certifications out the whazooo, so most highly credentialed sites offer training and certification in mental health, teen knowledge, and mentorship; I am taking classes from them. I listen to podcasts and audiobooks that are good for personal development and growth.
