Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephany Sensi.
Hi Stephany, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I started my career in fashion in Milano, where I studied Fashion Design. I later moved to Florida and worked with Tomas Maier for his eponymous brand for a few years. I then decided to move back to my country, Ecuador, where I launched my brand Sensi Studio, focusing on artisanal products with a modern twist.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been fairly smooth?
Not at all. Creating a brand is not an easy task. The first year it was a one-person show and a small group of artisans willing to think outside the box with me. It is developing new designs and trying out different things used for years. Growing a brand and keeping it relevant and cutting edge is very difficult. But it is not impossible, so here we are now.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I designed a collection of Panama Hats, Baskets, and Ready-to-Wear made in Ecuador. It focused on Resortwear and produced sustainably. We support the military craft of basket and hat weaving and work closely with Artisans from this Region. We have developed a collection that goes from Hats to bags, RTW, and Home with our signature style, brand DNA, and core values.
Do you have any advice for those just starting?
Stay focused, be consistent and push through.
