Hi Shane, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I started piercing when I was 20, and I’m now 47. I started my piercing career in Scottsdale, and now many years later, I’m back in Scottsdale, so it has come full circle. Piercing in the mid-90s was cool, and piercing has evolved so much since then with all the jewelry choices now, along with the word that getting any piercing done with a single-use disposable needle is the cleanest and safest way to approach a body piercing.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Overall, it has been pretty smooth, and I’ve worked with many great piercers over the years who I’m still friends with.

All of my business is word of mouth, and back in the day, you’d give clients stacks of business cards. I now have a virtual card, so clients will let friends or relatives know and text or email it over. I never push reviews at all, and if clients want to write a review, it gets the word out, which has been helpful as well.
