I’m Sammy—Founder and CEO of Simply Wellness, a functional medicine and media dietitian with a big heart for helping high-performing professionals escape burnout, regain energy, and achieve optimal health—without the overwhelm. But my story didn’t begin in the luxury wellness space. It started in the sterile, fast-paced world of hospital nutrition.
Over 12 years ago, I began my career as a Registered Dietitian and became a board-certified specialist in Oncology Nutrition. Working in some of the most emotionally charged environments imaginable, I witnessed the profound impact that a whole-body approach can have on human health. While I’m deeply grateful for those foundational years, I came to realize that our healthcare system often treats symptoms—not people. And I felt called to do more.
I wanted to support people before the breaking point. Before the burnout. Before the chronic illness. I envisioned a new way—more personalized, simplified, empowering, and whole.
That vision led me to functional medicine, and ultimately, to founding Simply Wellness.
What started as a small virtual practice has evolved into a boutique, luxury wellness brand supporting CEOs, executives, entrepreneurs, and powerhouse women and men who are juggling everything—but need someone in their corner to help them take care of themselves. Through personalized nutrition, genetic testing, functional labs, high-touch coaching, and curated experiences like retreats and pop-ups, I help clients step into what I call next-level wellness—the kind that feels like velvet on your soul. The kind of change that you are excited to do and that is easy to maintain for the long haul. That is the key to sustainable success.
I built Simply Wellness to feel like a full-body exhale. It’s wellness without the overwhelm—for the high performer who’s tired of figuring it all out alone. The one who’s tried every protocol, every cleanse, every doctor—but still doesn’t feel like themselves. It’s where strategy meets softness, science meets soul, and transformation becomes sustainable. Here, self-care isn’t selfish—it’s the most selfless act you can take, not just for you, but for everyone you support.
Today, I’m honored to be featured in national media, across 30+ publications, speak at conferences, partner with exceptional brands, and host immersive wellness experiences. I offer both virtual and in-person support from our integrative, functional medicine collaborative office—but at my core, I’m still deeply passionate about helping people feel better in their bodies and more at home in their lives.
Because this is where health becomes simple. Where wellness feels good. And where transformation connects across the world—one person at a time.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has been anything but smooth—and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Like so many entrepreneurs, especially those of us in wellness, my journey was born from a combination of deep purpose and personal challenge. Building Simply Wellness didn’t come with a step-by-step guide. It was (and still is) a path paved with faith, trial and error, and learning to trust myself at every new level.
When I left my stable hospital job, I walked away from a secure paycheck and a traditional career path. I knew in my gut there was more for me—but that didn’t make the leap any less scary. I went from a structured, clinical setting into the wild, soul-stretching world of entrepreneurship. And to be honest, I had no business plan when I started—just a fire in my belly and a vision for how wellness should feel.
I’ve navigated imposter syndrome, burnout, financial uncertainty, and moments where I questioned everything. I’ve rebuilt and rebranded, juggled multiple roles at once, and learned the hard way that doing it all doesn’t mean doing it well.
There was a chapter where I completely lost myself in hustle—ironically, while trying to help others heal. I became the very person I was trying to support: burned out, overwhelmed, and disconnected from my own body. That was a major turning point. I realized I couldn’t serve from depletion—and I started putting the same care, nourishment, and boundaries into my own life that I give my clients.
What’s helped me the most is learning to redefine success on my terms. I’ve had to let go of perfectionism, release timelines, and lean into trust—trust in the mission, trust in divine timing, and trust that what’s meant for me can’t miss me.
And now, every challenge I’ve walked through allows me to meet my clients with deeper empathy, sharper strategy, and real-world wisdom. I truly believe that our struggles shape our service. The harder the road, the greater the impact.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that you can’t build something sustainable—whether it’s a business, a body, or a life—without first building safety and support into yourself.
In the beginning, I thought “doing more” meant success. I wore all the hats, said yes to everything, and tried to prove my worth through productivity. But over time, I realized: the real magic happens when you slow down enough to actually listen to what your body, your business, and your intuition are trying to tell you.
This lesson has changed how I live, how I work, and how I serve.
I’ve learned that strategy is important—but softness is essential. Boundaries are a gift. Rest is productive.
And that honoring your own nervous system, capacity, and rhythm is the key to longevity in any area of life.
I’ve also learned that you are your own best case study. Everything I’ve created in Simply Wellness was born from the gaps I once needed filled. And the more I lead from lived experience—not just credentials—the more impact I make.
So now, I build from wholeness, not hustle. I lead with integrity, not urgency. And I teach my clients to do the same.
Because the truth is: success that costs your health, your peace, or your presence isn’t really success at all.
