Hidden Gems: Meet Ryder Olsen of Modwella

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryder Olsen.

Hi Ryder, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
We started with a vision to bring modern, professional healthcare to peoples’ homes. I am an emergency medicine physician, and I had seen many people utilizing the ER for various conditions that could easily be managed in their homes.

Using the ER is expensive even with insurance, so this was also a very motivating factor for us. Jake, my cousin, was an RN who brought the idea to me and my wife, Josilyn, who is also very passionate about public health.

We initially thought this was going to be a small, locally owned business in Utah County, but over the past 18 months, we have grown throughout Utah, Idaho, Texas, California, Washington, and Arizona. We have a passion for preventative healthcare and encourage our clients to take their health into their own hands. We also love allowing nurses to work outside of the hospital.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road, and we have learned so much along the way. Our biggest struggles so far have been changing our name, growing rapidly, and maintaining a professional medical service under a mobile platform.

We’ve been impressed with Modwella, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Modwella offers mobile health services, including IVs, labs, cosmetic injections, and weight loss injections. IVs are our most popular services, and we offer cocktails for both medical and preventative issues. We pride ourselves on being a very flexible, efficient, and professional medical service. We love helping others in need and allowing them to take advantage of our services in their home.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Hard work, persistence, discipline, and not being scared to fail.
