Today we’d like to introduce you to Paul “Mo” Moline.
Hi Paul, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m from Minnesota and worked there at CH Robinson for 26 years in supply chain management. After personally experiencing the impact of cancer and wanting to do something more, I started the MJ Cancer Free event. The event originally began in 2001 as a small golf outing in Texas with just 100 people in attendance. Over its 20 years of existence, it grew to have 2,000 annual attendees and raised more than $7,000,000 for our goal of making future cancer free.
In 2018, I joined the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation as a board member to make an even bigger impact in the fight against cancer. The Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation was established in honor of legendary NFL coach, Vince Lombardi, who lost his life to colon cancer at the age of 57. The Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation works to prevent cancer, provide the best care to those fighting it and find a cure.
In 2022, I took over as Board President of the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation and started a new golf tournament here in Scottsdale to raise funds to find a cure for cancer, called the Lombardi Southwest Open. This year’s event is on September 16 at Talking Stick Golf Club. We are looking for local golfers to join us, and like-minded businesses to sponsor the event. You can find more information on our website: www.lombardifoundation.org/lombardi-southwest-open.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My family has been hit hard with cancer. We lost my mother and brother in less than three months of each other. My father died from it the year I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. I chose to fight over the years.
There are so many things we need to help the countless medical leaders looking for a cure, and most importantly, those courageously fighting cancer: donations, auction items, allies, volunteers, and more. I like to think of it from a positive viewpoint: there are so many opportunities or things you can do to make a difference.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I was a General Manager and built teams to manage customers’ supply chains.
Please reach out to me and the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation. We’d love to hear from you.
