Today we’d like to introduce you to Olga Nadal.
Hi Olga, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
After owning 3 very successful restaurants on Maui and Westhampton Beach for 16 years with my first husband, I felt our relationship had reached its end and wanted to find an amicable and holistic way to complete it.
Sadly, I could not find coaches that would specialize in that specific transition to help me not just with the emotional side but also with the logistical part of the divorce. I had to figure it all out on my own and after achieving a divorce that people would congratulate us on I started getting asked to coach others going through their own.
That is when I trained as a life coach and later on became a Certified Divorce coach. Through working with clients, I developed my own methodology to create a Holistic Divorce which will be the alternative to the highly contentious and litigated process we are most used to. When I was approached to turn my methodology into a book, I knew the world was ready to shift the paradigm of divorce.
My book “The Holistic Divorce: A Practical Ten Step Process For Healing” became a Bestseller right after it was released on Amazon and it has become a trusted guide for those navigating the ending of their marriage. I now enjoy coaching one on one clients and training the new generation of coaches through the Holistic Divorce Institute, the platform we created to spread the message that divorce can empower people instead of destroying them.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would say that rather than obstacles, my biggest challenge is that there was no path laid out and instead I had to figure out first, how to become a divorce coach myself and then, design the methodology that we now use to train our students to become Holistic Divorce Coaches.
When I told my life coach mentor that I wanted to specialize in helping people navigate divorce he said “that would be amazing but I do not think that there is anyone teaching that”. Being a serial entrepreneur, fueled my desire further, and defining a new paradigm for divorce became my purpose.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Those who find me on social media tell me that they feel an immediate sense of relief and hope about their situation, which is usually the opposite of what most messaging around divorce is.
I truly believe that divorce is no walk in the park but it is also not predetermined to be one of the most traumatic events of your life as we have been told. There is a spectrum and getting guidance from a professional coach can make a world of difference both with how the process evolves and the results you get.
I am witnessing firsthand the incredibly beneficial shift from people wanting to tear each other apart to just wanting to end their marriage in the most civilized manner. This is reflected in the rising number of coaches that are getting hired specifically for this transition to work alongside the legal team.
What sets the Holistic Divorce Institute apart is that we take care of both the emotional and logistical sides of the process so we can coach our clients to remove the emotional negative charge before they sit down to negotiate. The result tends to be a low conflict, fast and affordable divorce where both parties feel satisfied with the final agreement instead of resenting that they lost big time.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Mindset regulation and emotional intelligence.
