Hidden Gems: Meet Miranda Reyes of Miranda Madison Events

Miranda, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Miranda Madison Events was born on a road trip while I was in California for a golf tournament. I played college golf at Southern Utah University and it was at that moment that I knew I needed to get all of my social media accounts as well as the LLC into order. So immediately, I texted and messaged everyone that I knew in my phone and got the business started…

I moved home from college, ended up getting a corporate job for about eight months when I knew I truly needed to pour my heart and soul into my own business… From then on out, Miranda Madison Events really took off and I connected with so many amazing people within this industry.

THEN, covid. I was finally hitting a little bit of a stride… Getting things into order… and covid caboshed it all… So now we are getting back into our stride and maintaining some of our amazing relationships and continuing to meet new people. We are fortunate enough to be able to be a part of multiple events in one night with our team of 11 amazing ladies we are loving every minute of all of the events!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not. Covid is definitely the huge elephant in the room and of course was not what everyone had expected what it would have been. But being able to move through covid and still continue to build the business has been one of the hardest challenges in life, but it has been such a learning curve more than anything.

With the event industry also being commissioned-based, it is hard to land sales (or events) sometimes, but being able to try to figure out how to be creative and figure out what is or is not working has been the true test of time.

As you know, we’re big fans of Miranda Madison Events. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Miranda Madison Events is a wedding and event planning company that also offers balloons as well. We truly love doing all of the different events and helping a number of clients with their special events. Our main focus is to allow the client to completely relax and truly enjoy their event how it should be!

What sets us apart from others is our ability to truly sit and have empathy, love, and compassion towards our clients. We understand the value of genuine relationships and connecting quickly with clients and also vendors.

Brand wise, we are proud of doing the little things that end up being the most impactful… We love giving gifts to our friends, wedding & birthday gifts to our clients on the day of the event, personalized thank you notes to all of the vendors on the day of events, going above and beyond for anyone and everyone always.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Reach out, stay persistent, and be okay with rejection. If there is a company or mentor that you are really, really, really wanting to work with or meet up with, and you might not be able to get that meeting… It’s okay… Keep reaching out to others, there might be someone else who is right around the corner for you!

Instagram DMs has done wonders for me… But we also sent about 100 DMs at this point between asking for shadowing opportunities, intern opportunities, or just a meeting… I only had about 20 people that responded and about five people that sat down to meetings with me…

Just know that to start out, you might have to shadow or intern for free… but you have to be ok with that!
