Today we’d like to introduce you to Maycee Cunningham. 

Hi Maycee, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.

Hi, I’m Maycee Cunningham, the founder of Elevate Agency. I started Elevate Agency in April of 2021 at 19 years old. Growing up, entrepreneurship was always a goal of mine, thanks to my dad who is also a successful business owner. I graduated high school a year early in 2019 and for about a year I struggled with finding a career that I would be passionate about. I felt very lost in life, as I’m sure many fresh graduates do, but I refused to settle for a job I didn’t like and I knew from a very young age I wanted to be my own boss. I was bouncing around a bunch of different careers at the time, but couldn’t find one that I really enjoyed. At the beginning of the pandemic (what better time right?) I was introduced to social media marketing and shortly after realized I had a passion for that field.  After taking a bunch of classes on marketing, I knew that there would never be a time I felt fully ‘ready’, so I took the leap and launched my own agency.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?

I wouldn’t exactly say it has been a smooth road, I have had to overcome many challenges, as every entrepreneur does when starting a business. Launching at such a young age, I truly don’t think I understood the responsibility that came with it, and the uncomfortableness I was going to be faced with. From having to work two jobs until my business finally took off, to late hours of extra work to make my business take off, being broke the first few months, the anxiety of having those uncomfortable conversations where you really have to grow up. It was a lot of uncertainty at first, and to be honest it still is. However, those moments of struggle have been the moments where I have had the most growth. I would say my biggest lesson I have learned is that the key to growth is uncomfortableness. I am grateful for every challenge I have been faced with because without challenges, you will never grow. I live by the quote, “Nothing worth having comes easy.’.

Elevate Agency is a modern-day Digital Marketing Agency designed to scale businesses through different online platforms and strategies. We work with businesses in the beauty, wellness, real estate, and fashion industry, and with both product & service-based businesses. Have you ever thought about the people behind your favorite businesses social media accounts? That’s us! Our mission is to elevate businesses’ online digital presence, as it is a necessary tool these days.

I would say something that sets us apart from other agencies is how hands-on we all are with our clients. We take satisfaction being the people behind a brand and strive to make an impact on each business by helping them reach their full potential and the success they deserve, but also by not making them feel like they no longer have a say in their brand. Our client’s business and their success are as important as the success I want for my own business. I am very proud of how Elevate is growing, and I take huge pride in being a female entrepreneur, and I want that to be my biggest influence I have on young girls who are also striving to be a successful entrepreneur. Being able to be that figure to influence girls like 17-year-old me, is truly my biggest accomplishment. I am beyond excited to see what is to come for Elevate Agency and for the many successes of my current and future clients. Coming into 2022, we are expanding and looking to build our team. We are always open to take on new clients in the beauty, wellness, fashion & real estate industry.

What was your favorite childhood memory?

I would have to say some of my favorite childhood memories come from growing up in a softball community. From a very young age up until my senior year I played softball. I feel like that time holds some of the best memories yet for me, and also shaped me into the leader I am today.
