Today we’d like to introduce you to Madelyn Lydon.
Hi Madelyn, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Lydon Advertising began quietly in 2020, during a moment of global pause that forced many marketers (including myself) to rethink how and where we worked. Like so many others, my professional world suddenly shifted into the confines of my own home. What started as a creative outlet and side hustle quickly became a space to experiment, collaborate, and build something more personal alongside my full-time roles in hospitality and agency marketing.
In the early days, Lydon Advertising served as a flexible platform to support small businesses and brands that needed nimble, thoughtful marketing during uncertain times. As the industry adapted, so did the business. Over the years, Lydon Advertising grew organically through word-of-mouth, trusted relationships, and opportunities to partner with local agencies and collaborators who shared a similar belief: great marketing starts with genuine connection and clear storytelling.
Those partnerships allowed me to deepen my experience across branding, digital strategy, PR, and hospitality-driven marketing—while continuing to refine the vision for what Lydon Advertising could become. Each project added clarity and confidence, reinforcing that this wasn’t just a side project, but a business with momentum.
In November 2025, I made the leap to work for myself full-time. What began as a passion project during an unprecedented chapter evolved into a full-scale creative consultancy rooted in strategic thinking, relationship-building, and a deep appreciation for brands that lead with purpose. Today, Lydon Advertising continues to grow with a focus on intentional partnerships, thoughtful storytelling, and helping brands show up in ways that feel authentic, impactful, and human.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to building Lydon Advertising has been anything but linear. In its earliest form, the business was designed to be flexible: a side project I could scale up during seasons when I had more bandwidth and creative energy. That adaptability became one of its greatest strengths, allowing the brand to grow organically without pressure or rigid expectations.
In 2023, however, the path shifted. Challenges within my full-time role required me to step back and temporarily refocus my energy. While difficult at the time, that pause proved to be an important period of reflection. It reinforced the importance of alignment, boundaries, and investing in work that feels both sustainable and fulfilling.
By 2025, the opportunity to take a leap of faith presented itself. I chose to fully invest in myself, my skills, and the vision I had been quietly building for years. Making the decision to work for myself full time was equal parts exhilarating and grounding—and one I haven’t looked back on since. That leap marked a new chapter rooted in confidence, clarity, and a deeper commitment to building something intentional, both professionally and personally.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Lydon Advertising is a boutique marketing consultancy built on storytelling, strategy, and meaningful connection. Rooted in a digital-first mindset, the brand was shaped by growing up alongside the evolution of social media and building a career as platforms transformed from creative tools into powerful business drivers. That lived experience informs a marketing approach that balances data and instinct- understanding not just how channels function, but how audiences truly engage with them.
Specializing in digital marketing, social media strategy, experiential campaigns, PR, and hospitality-focused storytelling, Lydon Advertising is known for creating work that feels intentional and human. In-house experience at the Arizona Biltmore deeply influenced this perspective, reinforcing the idea that the most impactful marketing extends beyond content and into experience. From guest touchpoints to brand moments, creativity is always viewed through the lens of how people feel, remember, and connect.
What sets Lydon Advertising apart is its hands-on, relationship-driven approach and intentionally boutique scale. Every partnership is customized, collaborative, and grounded in trust rather than templates. Brand-wise, the greatest point of pride is building a business that has grown organically through reputation, adaptability, and alignment.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something that might surprise people is that I’ve always been most comfortable being a beginner. Growing up, although I was always one of the tallest girls in my class, I was never the star athlete, which taught me early on how to try new things without needing to be perfect at them. Learning to fail (and then learning how to progress) became a skill in itself.
That mindset still shows up in my work and my life today. I’m naturally curious, willing to experiment, and unafraid of the learning curve that comes with growth. My current experiment? Learning how to golf. It’s a humbling, challenging reminder that progress doesn’t come from instant wins, but from showing up, staying patient, and embracing the process, something that continues to shape how I approach both business and creativity.
