We started our company, LA Math Tutoring, with the goal of helping to empower people through education. At LA Math Tutoring, we believe that everyone learns differently, that productivity should be positive, and that education goes beyond school.

For these reasons, we started offering private 1-on-1 tutoring services to students in our local area, until we gradually expanded and began tutoring people online as well. Now, we teach students of all ages, grades, and levels, all around the world.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have definitely been difficulties along the way. Because everyone learns in different styles and at different paces, we have to constantly adjust our teaching methods and customize different lesson plans for each student.

Sometimes, it’ll just “click” for a student immediately, but other times, it can be more challenging. Regardless, by focusing on how the individual processes information and communicates, we’re able to keep the lessons productive and engaging.
