Hidden Gems: Meet Krystal Davis of Lamour Tours & Travel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Krystal Davis.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have been a critical care nurse for 7 years and out of those 3 years I began travel nursing to reignite my passion for the field of nursing. I was beginning to feel burnout by the high demands of my job so I began doing leisure travel once per month as a form of self-care.

I loved it so much that I began blogging about my travel experiences and my social media audience began inquiring about my travel experience a lot so an idea popped up in my mind. Why not turn my love for travel into a travel agency business? I love helping others and I enjoy planning travel, so this was the perfect business venture for me.

So from there I launched my travel agency, Lamour Tours & Travel, spring of 2022 and organized and hosted my first women’s wellness retreat in June of 2022. So today, I organize and curate travel experiences for clients and I am currently in the process of organizing and launching another women’s wellness retreat in Costa Rica.

My goal is to create girl group trips around the world and provide a safe & authentic space for women to reset, meet like-minded people, and create memorable experiences. I developed this interest in retreats after my own personal experience as a guest on a retreat and it changed my life forever. I knew that I wanted to provide other women with the same opportunity.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have learned that long-term success will never come easy. As a new business owner, I went through some needed some trials and tribulations to become the business owner I am today. To be honest, I attempted to start my travel agent journey in November of 2019 and then COVID happened and put a halt to travel during that time when it was unknown when travel would resume so I felt discouraged about the lack of business and put it on hold.

Also being in the age of technology, social media presence is pretty essential these days. So even on days when I may not feel like being present, I’m aware that at least being consistent with my audience and email list is important. As a travel agent, education is also constant and can be a struggle to maintain due to the vast amount of information.

There are always new things to learn about from hotel suppliers, locations, activities, etc. But looking back I have learned that timing aligns and trusting the process is everything. So, overall despite obstacles I feel like I launched my business when I was truly ready.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Lamour Tours & Travel?
So my business revolves around creating custom travel itineraries and experiences for clients interested in unique traveling experiences. My services give an “off the beaten path” type of vibe. My services are still versatile to where we provide traditional travel excursions but also have the knowledge and skill to create something unique for my clients as requested. I feel like my skills are specialized in solo travel based on my own personal experience, but many of my clients request group travel experiences and I am well versed in that too.

I think what sets me apart from others is that I really love and live this travel lifestyle. I treat my clients like family and I am supportive every step of the way. A lot of travel experiences that I recommend and book are things that I have personally booked and experienced on my own. I think that is important because in the travel business people are confiding in you to organize a trip that is fun, safe, organized, and memorable.

I will also be creating a nurse coach and holistic wellness 1 on 1 service to my travel services for people who are looking to change their lifestyle and health during my retreat events & during their vacation getaways. I am most proud of maintaining a reputation of being knowledgeable and experienced in this industry and I am known for my solo travel adventures via social media and efforts of promoting and maintaining women empowerment.
