Hidden Gems: Meet Justin & Jena Sjaaheim of Canary Love Candles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Justin & Jena Sjaaheim. 

Hi Justin & Jena, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m Jena with one N, a wife, a SAHM mama of two, coffee connoisseur, plant lover, and I love creating opportunities for others to experience love, joy, and peace. Oh and I love growing my own flowers. 

After getting diagnosed with Crohn’s disease about 8 years ago, I have grown quite passionate about nontoxic living and have been healing naturally! It’s been an amazing journey that has led me to creating nontoxic candles. 

When our first son, was born, that’s when I became a stay-at-home mom and quickly realized that I needed to make my house a home not just a building my family hung out in. I wanted our home to feel welcoming, loving, and cozy. I wanted our home to be a sanctuary and what better way than with candles? After all, my husband Justin loves candles! But there was one problem; every time a lit a candle from the store, we all would experience extreme allergies. So, we made our own. 

We love putting smiles on people’s faces & doing meaningful work while balancing healthy living. When we shared our candles with others, we noticed they created a lot of smiles & positive lifestyle changes, so we wanted to do more of that. 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We value healthy balanced living & the amount of love our community has. Our largest challenges have stemmed from improving balance between entrepreneurial life and improving in gentle parenting (while still having time for our own well-being). Our customers are so great, they make it all worth it.

Canary Love Candles specializes in non-toxic candles serving mainly the intentional homemaker & wise soul who makes time to stop & smell the roses. 

By being transparent, we want people to trust that they are adding to the value of their health & safety while enhancing their home.

Any big plans?
First, we look forward to scaling our production, team, service and community while meeting our summits along the way. Next, we are about to launch our masculine line of candles as well as customer accounts with subscription packages & perks. Lastly, we plan to centralize our customer’s experiences with a brick & mortar shop in the coming season.
