Hidden Gems: Meet Joseph Thompson of Zebrascapes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joseph Thompson.

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
I grew up overseas in Baku, Azerbaijan; Warsaw, Poland; Kyiv, Ukraine; Malawi, Africa; Kingston, Jamaica; Dublin, Ireland, & Sri Lanka. I moved to Prescott and was introduced to an educational platform called Therealworld. From there, I was tutored in digital marketing, copywriting, and SEO. Instead of getting a degree, I sought small business owners, offering to work for them for free. I received video testimonials from the clients I worked with, eventually building a virtual portfolio to display. From there, I was hired by a landscaping company called Zebrascapes Landscaping, and I am working full-time. I create and distribute their ads on every platform, develop and upkeep their website, film, edit, post their videos, and develop SEO strategies to further their virtual growth and visibility on search engines.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In the beginning, I had to use my finances to promote my client’s businesses and show them I could further their growth.
