Hidden Gems: Meet Jessie Rodriguez of Dust Devil Off Road Shop

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessie Rodriguez.

Hi Jessie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Our Story: Dust Devil Off-Road Shop

A few years ago, I started working at an off-road shop and quickly realized this was something I truly loved. The thrill of working with trucks, Jeeps, and custom builds sparked a passion that kept growing every day.

Thanks to all the sacrifices and hard work from my mom, Rosario, and the support of my family. I was able to turn that passion into reality. My mom’s support gave me the strength to launch Dust Devil Off-Road Shop right here in Phoenix. Our goal has always been to provide expert suspension work, quality parts, and custom builds that help off-road enthusiasts conquer the toughest trails.

Being a young owner at 24 years old in this industry isn’t easy—but I’m proud of how far we’ve come. I’m especially grateful for my team, who believe in me and show up every day ready to put in the work. Some of them have been doing this long before I was even born, and the fact that they trust me as a leader is something I don’t take lightly. It motivates me to keep growing and learning every step of the way.

Dust Devil Off-Road Shop isn’t just a business—it’s a dream brought to life through hard work, passion, and the people around me. I’m honored to be part of this industry, and I’m excited to keep pushing forward with every build, every customer, and every challenge we take on.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Starting and running a shop in an industry that’s packed with experienced people and long-standing businesses has been one of the biggest challenges. Being a young owner at 24, and doing most of this on my own, has pushed me to learn everything as I go—sometimes the hard way.

From the start until now, I haven’t had any investors or a business background. My only support came from my mom, Rosario, who owns a commercial cleaning company and believed in me from day one. Everything else has been built through my own hard work, hustle, and willingness to figure it out, no matter what.

But those struggles have shaped who I am today. They’ve made me stronger, more determined, and proud of what I’ve built so far. I’m still learning every day, and I’m okay with that—because growth doesn’t come easy, and success doesn’t happen overnight.

I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and I know every challenge is just part of the process of building something real.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Dust Devil Off-Road Shop is a Phoenix-based off-road and 4×4 shop built from passion, hard work, and real trail experience. We help people modify and upgrade their vehicles so they can perform better on the trail—whether it’s for crawling rocks, hitting the dunes, or exploring remote backroads.

We offer everything from suspension setups and gear installs to general maintenance and custom builds for Jeeps, trucks, and UTVs. But what truly sets us apart is how personal this is for us. We’re not just here to sell parts—we’re part of the off-road community ourselves.

We ride with our customers, show up to local events, and test our work out on the same trails. Every build that leaves our shop reflects our commitment to quality and our love for the off-road lifestyle. We take pride in building strong relationships with our customers and treating every vehicle like it’s our own.

I’m proud of how far Dust Devil Off-Road has come—built from the ground up, with no investors, just family support and a lot of drive. We’re here for the long haul, helping off-roaders build, fix, and trust their rigs wherever the trail leads.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next years, I see the off-road industry continuing to grow—especially as more people get into outdoor lifestyles, overlanding, and exploring off the beaten path. There’s a growing demand from both experienced off-roaders and everyday drivers who want to build up their vehicles for adventure. That means more interest in quality suspension setups, gear upgrades, and dependable shop work.

Social media is also playing a big role. Platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram are bringing a new generation into the off-road world. That’s why one of my personal goals is to create more video content—so people can learn how to fix or upgrade their rigs no matter where they live, whether they’re in another state or another country.

As the industry grows, so will Dust Devil Off-Road. I plan to expand into a larger location, take on more complex builds, and continue building a brand that represents honesty, quality, and community.

This isn’t just about parts and installs—it’s about helping people feel confident in their vehicles, connecting with other off-roaders, and building something that lasts. This is just the beginning. We’re here to grow, to lead, and to keep building rigs that make a difference.
