Hidden Gems: Meet Jennifer Wilkins of Weenie Mama Hotdogs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Wilkins.

Hi Jennifer, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Weenie Mama Hotdogs came about while brainstorming ideas about passive incomes that would allow me more time, be more hands-on, and be present for my two young daughters. Purchasing my hotdog cart has allowed me to set the example of entrepreneurship early on, and laid a foundation that their vision must also have a rock-solid work ethic. It hasn’t come without some challenges, I had zero clue about what to do or where to start. I began writing down a plan and began the research, learning more, I stuck with it and it actually worked!

Weenie Mama Hotdogs connect with the community by hosting themed events, such as Halloween parties and HOA events. We are committed to providing community services to the underprivileged and unhoused community. Once a month we provide free meals and hygiene bags to those in need. Weenie Mama Hotdogs also provides day labor work for individuals in need.

I am proud to have a front-row seat to something amazing unfolding from a well-thought-out idea. I get the biggest smile serving quirky food that makes people satisfied. I am always excited to venture out and Network with different types of beautiful humans from all walks of life. I still seem to get emotional with the thought of my two young daughters witnessing all of the hard work that’s going into their legacy. I am proud truly, that they stand and work with me side by side and are learning the true value of earning their keep in this world.

Weenie Mama Hotdogs is a community and family-oriented business. Our passion is to encourage and inspire our fellow foodies to be open-minded and eclectic on this ever-changing food adventure. Food is the universal language of survival and contentment, something everyone can relate to. A good meal with great company feeds the body and soul. Weenie Mama Hotdogs provides the perfect balance of decadent foods with ambient surroundings. This experience has been proven to help with bringing people of the communities together.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Weenie Mama Hotdogs was in the grassroots stages when Covid19 swept the nation. When the panic set in, people were leerier about dining out. So many restaurants were closing their doors and I wanted to find a way to better accommodate my community.

It has taken some time but, the community is strong and resilient. Slowly as the ER numbers dwindled, people began emerging. The great emergence brought with it a desire for solidarity and socialization. I wanted to create a safe space to eat and socialize happily. Adjusting to a post-pandemic society is made easier over something that sustains us all, food culture.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
