Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenice Hughes.
Hi Jenice, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am a Board Certified Nurse Anesthetist with 25 years of experience administering ketamine. A family suicide precipitated our opening of Scottsdale Ketamine Clinic in 2019. I had been using ketamine in anesthesia for over 25 years but never really considered the benefits of ketamine. The loss of my nephew made me really look at ketamine closely. The studies showed how effective ketamine is in treating depression, anxiety and other mood disorders. I have seen lives changed with ketamine and am committed to helping others. I want to help people live a better life.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I’m not sure any business owner can call it a smooth road.
One of our biggest struggles is that insurance does not cover our treatments. It is an out of pocket expense and that is a limiting factor for many people.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We do business as Scottsdale Ketamine Clinic and Ahwatukee Ketamine Clinic. Our clinic in Scottsdale has been around since 2019 while our Ahwatukee Clinic has been open about 3 years.
We offer ketamine treatments to ease emotional suffering caused by depression, anxiety, PTSD, and addiction. We also use ketamine infusion therapy to ease physical pain brought on by fibromyalgia, migraine, neuropathic pain, CRPS, and other causes of chronic pain.
We understand people are hurting both physically and mentally. We’re here to offer a different path – one rooted in innovative therapies, compassionate care, and a deep commitment to our patient’s well-being. We have seen our specialized ketamine infusion therapy serve as a powerful catalyst to help people make positive changes in their lives.
At Scottsdale Ketamine Clinic, our treatments are an alternative approach for a better outlook on life.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
To see people get better. Many times, they have tried many different medications, therapy, counseling, TMS and other modalities without success. They come to us and think it is just one more things that is not going to work.
We see about an 85% success rate where people do feel better after ketamine.
