Hidden Gems: Meet Janeth Ruiz of Valine Medical

Today we’d like to introduce you to Janeth Ruiz.

Hi Janeth, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
At 14 years old, I moved to the United States from Guadalajara, Mexico. As a teenager in a new country, not knowing the language, it was difficult to imagine that I could ever achieve a career or own a business. Initially, I would cry because I couldn’t understand the language, but with the encouragement of my family, I overcame the language barrier and pursued my education.

I often felt I needed to study longer and harder just to keep up. At first, I wanted to study medicine, but I found it challenging to navigate. Eventually, I earned a bachelor’s degree in Family and Human Development and a master’s in Infant and Family Practice. Through these experiences, my passion for the healthcare industry grew, and I decided to return to school to study naturopathic medicine.

Studying naturopathic medicine has allowed me to fully embrace my passion for healthcare. I love understanding the human body and, even more, helping others achieve optimal health. One of my deepest passions is helping men and women in the Hispanic community, as I am proud to be part of Mexican heritage. My own health struggles have taught me compassion and given me a deeper understanding of the challenges people face when trying to improve their well-being.

I started my business not only to pursue my passion but also to spend more time with my daughter. It is important to me to teach her independence and self-reliance. As a working mom, I understand the difficulty of being fully present for your children while managing a career. This is also why I love helping families improve their health—so they can continue working and living the lives they need to live, without sacrificing their well-being.

I am deeply grateful that God has given me the opportunity to help others, to continue learning and growing, and to make a positive difference in the lives of those around me.

Now, as a small business owner, my dream is to continue growing my business to reach more people and help them optimize their health. I focus on supporting individuals with hormone imbalances, diabetes, thyroid issues, cholesterol management, weight challenges, and overall health. My goal is to create better health outcomes and empower vibrant, happy lives from the inside out.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As a business owner, I have faced many challenges along the way. Navigating the business world while continuing to learn and grow in the field of medicine hasn’t been easy. I’m incredibly grateful for the mentors I’ve met and the support I’ve received along the way.

One of the biggest struggles has been wearing multiple hats and not always knowing how things will turn out. In the end, you have to trust the process, have faith in yourself, live with passion, treat others with kindness, and keep working hard every single day.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My business, Valine Medical, was born from my passion for helping others, my desire to be present for my daughter, and my commitment to improving patient care in the healthcare industry. I know that many times, the Hispanic community is underserved, and it can be challenging for them to find care in their native language. This is why I am deeply passionate about supporting the Hispanic community.

As a woman and a mother, I also understand the struggles of fatigue, low self-esteem, weight gain, and more. Through my own challenges, I’ve gained valuable insights that I now use to help my patients overcome their health obstacles and achieve their goals.
