Hidden Gems: Meet Jada June Totten of Rodeo Trippin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jada June Totten.

Hi Jada June. We’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I am a 17-year-old rodeo athlete focusing on barrels, breakaway, goat tying, and team roping. When I’m not competing, you can find me highlighting my rodeo lifestyle across my social media accounts. I do my best to showcase a ‘backstage glimpse’ into what rodeo life is like for a high schooler and now a Tarleton College athlete!

While “Rodeo Trippin” across the United States over the past several years, I found it challenging to find unique western clothes. To solve the problem, I created Rodeo Trippin, a unique clothing and accessory brand that appeals to the modern-day rodeo enthusiast. My brand relates to my peers, and I am grateful for its positive response.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My brand has received a tremendous amount of support. It’s exciting to see people I do not know wearing my hats or clothes. Some of my most recent struggles have been with production delays. The Covid pandemic created product shortages, and I could not deliver wholesale orders promptly. I also found it hard to create new designs and update new products while competing and traveling throughout the United States. Cell phone service is often not the greatest in rodeo locations, and I cannot respond as quickly as I like. To help combat these challenges, I recently hired part-time staff to fulfill orders, which has been a game changer.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Rodeo Trippin?
Rodeo Trippin is a western clothing brand with authentic designs for males and females. To my knowledge, it is the only western clothing brand owned and operated by a teenager. I know what my peers like and want to provide them with unique and authentic designs. Currently, my hats are carried in western chain stores and boutiques and are available on my website- rodeotrippin.com.

What matters most to you?
When it comes to clothing, I enjoy wearing soft, comfortable, and durable clothing that I can practice, feed, or compete in. My brand must provide my customers with fun, trendy designs that are equally comfortable and enjoyable to wear. When it comes to the rodeo culture, I have an appreciation for the strong community, heart, and giving spirit. As the former state high school president for two consecutive years, I had many opportunities to give back to the rodeo community.

I look forward to continuing to give back on a larger scale with Rodeo Trippin. Stay tuned for an annual Rodeo Trippin community event.
