Today we’d like to introduce you to Gloria Langan.
Hi Gloria, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I became a mother at just 16 years old. The moment I held my first child for the first time, a wave of fear washed over me, but it was quickly replaced by fierce determination. I knew, without a a doubt, that I had to finish my education, support my children, and give them a better life they deserved. The road ahead looked impossible-juggling diapers, homework, and a job facing judgement, and wondering how I would ever make ends meet. I hit a breaking point where my own strength simply wasn’t enough. It was then that I truly surrendered my future to God. My journey in the dental field truly began by God’s grace; not after college, but at 17, when an unexpected opportunity as a dental assistant trainee provided my first glimpse into a world I’d grow to love. I had a long impactful career in the dental field, working up to dental assistant to managing multiple offices. This field was a significant part of my life, intertwined with both professional achievements and personal milestones, including meeting my late husband Brandon Langan. He was luring me into the business in a strategic and patient manner, with the ultimate goal of having me join him in our family enterprise Paradise Patio Furniture. The experience of working closely with him to build our career and family legacy hold a significant meaning to me.
I lost my husband on 03/15/2024 He passed away after a long and challenging medical journey, which included a battle with cancer large B-cell lymphoma and ultimately, HLH, a rare and aggressive blood disorder, took his life.
Brandon L built this company Paradise Patio Furniture (DBA) Brandon’s Custom Iron Designs (LLC) with his hands and his heart, and with the tools and skills he taught me, I will continue his mission.
Brandon my late husband as we were dating, and over the years I was fortunate to be mentored by my husband, who imparted his extensive knowledge and skills to me. It is my honor to carry forward the business he built and to uphold the values that were so important to him.
He wasn’t just my husband; he was my mentor. He taught me everything I know about this trade, and I made a commitment to him that I would continue the business and serve our clients with the same care and expertise he always did.
Moving forward and alongside my son Anthony, who has been preparing for this transition. We are incredibly fortunate to have our loyal, and long-standing employees by our side. Together, as a united team, we will ensure the business continues to provide the same quality service and dedication that our customers expect. We will continue to build on the strong foundation he created.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Over the past few years, which have been difficult personally due to my husbands serious illness and recent passing. Navigating that journey while running the family business was areal struggle. With God’s grace and the support of my team and my son alongside, we’ve weathered the storm, and I am now refocusing my efforts on our craftsmanship, quality and building on a strong foundation.
