Today we’d like to introduce you to Edris Yousefi.
Hi Edris, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Lucky Dog Mobile Groomers started from a very personal place for me. As a business owner and a family man, time is incredibly valuable, and I experienced firsthand how stressful and inconvenient traditional pet grooming could be not just for owners, but especially for the pets themselves. Between busy schedules, long waits, and anxious dogs, it felt like there had to be a better way.
That realization led me to launch Lucky Dog with a simple goal: make grooming easier, calmer, and more convenient by bringing professional services directly to customers’ homes. In the early days, I was deeply involved in every part of the business by listening to customers, refining the experience, and building systems that put quality and consistency first. Staying close to the day-to-day realities helped shape the values the company still operates by today.
As the business grew, I began to see that this wasn’t just a local solution, but a model that could scale if done the right way. My focus shifted toward building a brand and infrastructure that allowed other entrepreneurs to succeed while still delivering a premium, dependable experience for pet owners.
Bringing Lucky Dog to Phoenix has been especially exciting. It’s a city full of growing families, busy professionals, and pet lovers who truly value convenience and quality. The response here has reinforced why we do what we do. We’re not just grooming dogs, we’re giving families back time, reducing stress for pets, and creating meaningful local businesses in the communities we serve.
Today, Lucky Dog operates across dozens of markets nationwide, but the heart of the business remains the same. I’m driven by building something my family can be proud of which is a company rooted in care, compassion and real impact.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like most entrepreneurial journeys, there were plenty of challenges along the way, especially in the early stages. One of the biggest lessons was learning how to scale without sacrificing quality. When you’re hands on, standards are easy to maintain, but growth requires strong systems, training, and trust in others.
Another challenge was ensuring consistency with our growing fleet. Having a dog salon on wheels means maintaining vehicles, grooming equipment and ensuring a proper environment for both the groomers and the dogs. By developing and using best in class vans, clean power energy with lithium batteries we provide a quiet and eco friendly place for our groomers to do their best work.
There were also moments of uncertainty as we expanded into new markets, each with its own dynamics. Those challenges forced me to grow as a leader and stay focused on the long-term vision rather than short-term wins. In hindsight, the struggles were essential in shaping the company Lucky Dog is today.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Lucky Dog Mobile Groomers is built around one simple idea: making pet grooming easier and less stressful for both pets and their owners. We provide full service grooming right at our customers’ homes, eliminating the hassle of drop offs, long waits, and unfamiliar environments. The result is a calmer, one on one experience that pets respond better to and families truly appreciate.
What sets us apart is our commitment to pet care and consistency. Every groom is done with patience, attention, and respect for the animal, and we’ve built our processes to ensure that level of care is delivered every time. We believe grooming should feel personal and dependable, not rushed or transactional.
What I’m most proud of is the trust we’ve built with families and communities. Pet owners invite us into their lives, and we take that responsibility seriously. Beyond grooming, Lucky Dog has grown into a brand that supports groomers, creates local opportunities, and stays rooted in the values it was founded on: care, integrity, and long term commitment to the well being of pets.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I like best about Phoenix is the people and the sense of growth and possibility. It’s a city filled with families, entrepreneurs, and pet lovers who value convenience, quality, and community. There’s an energy here that feels forward moving, and it’s exciting to build something in a place where people are invested in both their lifestyle and their neighborhoods.
What I like least if I had to choose is simply how spread out the city can be. Phoenix’s size and sprawl can make day to day logistics more challenging at times, but it’s also part of what makes mobile services so valuable here. Additionally, the hot month’s which are brutal for most can also be a challenge but again, providing a mobile service for pet’s in a calm, cool environment directly at families’ homes helps turn that challenge into an opportunity.
