Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
From a young age, I have always had a deep passion for helping others. As a single mother for most of my life, that passion grew even stronger—particularly in my desire to support and empower women. The challenges and obstacles I faced firsthand reinforced my belief that with perseverance, dedication, and commitment, I could overcome any barrier and achieve my goals. I refused to make excuses and made significant sacrifices in my young adult years to break through societal stigmas and personal challenges.

Balancing full-time work and full-time education, I pursued higher learning as a means to fulfill my purpose. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology, followed by a Master of Science in General Administration and a Master of Arts in School Administration. As I built my career in education and mental health, I found immense fulfillment in working with students, families, and communities. My involvement deepened as I engaged with various state organizations, seeking to make a meaningful impact.

In 2008, God placed a vision in my heart, and from that, Renovating Lives, Inc. was born. I continued to invest in my growth, earning multiple certifications, licensures, an advanced degree, and ultimately, a Doctorate in Education. In 2019, after obtaining coaching and mentoring certifications, I launched Reestablishing You, LLC, further expanding my commitment to personal and professional development.

For as long as I can remember, I have been a mentor, coach, and advocate for others. I am honored to be a “safe space” for those in need of guidance and empowerment. My mission remains to help individuals unlock their full potential, knowing that we are all purposed for something greater. The support I receive from my community, organizations, and the individuals I serve makes this journey incredibly rewarding. I am deeply honored, humbled, and grateful for the opportunity to continue making an impact.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, the journey has not been a smooth road. A few years after launching Renovating Lives, Inc., life presented its share of struggles and obstacles. Some of the biggest challenges I faced included a lack of funding, limited support, and personal obstacles that made it difficult to execute the vision I had for the organization.

Without the necessary financial resources and support, bringing my ideas to life was challenging. Additionally, I found myself juggling too many responsibilities at once—my personal goals, aspirations, and business demands were overwhelming. In the early years, I struggled with maintaining balance, which made sustaining and growing the business even more difficult.

However, through resilience, learning, and growth, I was able to relaunch Renovating Lives, Inc. and successfully establish Reestablishing YOU, LLC. The experiences and lessons I have gained over the years have made a significant impact, allowing both businesses to thrive and fulfill their intended missions. The learning curve continues and is an everyday thing for me. I am so grateful and humbled by the opportunities that God has afforded me and the open doors that HE has allowed me to walk through. The struggles along the way allowed to adapt and make the necessary adjustments in order to move efficiently and effectively in my God-given purpose.
