Today we’d like to introduce you to Cierra Garcia.
Hi Cierra, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
My story starts way back when I would treat myself as a teenager to peels and facials and buy all the most extensive and probably unnecessary homecare products to use on my face to prevent any sign of aging. When I was a stay-at-home parent in my late twenties, I sold Mary Kay because I loved the makeup and skincare, but also the camaraderie of the women.
Fast forward a few years later, thinking of what I could do as a career that would combine my passion for skin and the flexibility of being available for my kids, I enrolled in esthetics school in 2015, and the rest is as we know it. I have now been practicing esthetics as a solopreneur for 8 years, and I absolutely adore it.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t necessarily been a smooth road, but fortunately, I haven’t had to deal with devastating blows to my business either. I think we could all agree on the fact that when COVID hit, it was a tumultuous time of worry and dread because we had no idea what was going to happen but LUXE persevered.
I feel as time goes on, struggles will happen along the way. You learn and grow in your business that you don’t make the same mistakes; it’s just different obstacles with different solutions.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next, you can tell us a bit more about your business.
In my business, I take great care in serving my clients. Quite literally, over time, they become friends, and who wouldn’t enjoy going to work every day to catch up, laugh, and banter with their friends? I think, as far as what I’d like others to know about myself and my business, is that I accept you, I’ll hype you up, I’ll listen, and in life’s challenges, I will support my client friend in the capacity they need.
I also hold a master’s Degree in Mental Health and Wellness, and I really believe it goes hand in hand with my practice. What sets me apart from others is not just my knowledge and skill in esthetics but myself as a person. I treat people with care and empathy; I think it’s my vibe that keeps clients coming back.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you, and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Lessons from the COVID crisis that I endured were to use the downtime for continued education, online workshops, and master your craft. I think we were all in a position to use the extra time wisely, and I used it to search for any learning opportunities to grow and increase my knowledge so when I was back in full swing, I would have tons of new skills to utilize and make my practice that much better.
