Hi Chanel, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Wow. Paradise Pole Fitness basically started with a little hope and a whole lot of prayer.
My journey with pole fitness began about 12 years ago when I was in college. I was just looking for something new to try, so my friends and I booked a class. From that very first class, I felt something spark inside me. It felt familiar, empowering — like I was exactly where I was meant to be. I loved the energy, the strength, the confidence it brought, and most of all, I loved being surrounded by women who were lifting each other up.
After that, I started teaching at a few studios while still working a regular job. But by the end of 2020, life took a major turn, and I found myself needing to rebuild — mentally, emotionally, spiritually. That’s when the idea hit me: Why not create my own space? A place for women to feel safe, strong, and seen.
No loans. No borrowing. Just faith, grit, and a vision.
And in 2022, I opened the doors to Paradise Pole Fitness.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would say yes — it’s been a smooth road overall. It’s been 4 years, and we’re still growing, still evolving. Like any small business, there have definitely been challenges along the way — whether it’s learning to wear multiple hats, navigating slow seasons, or figuring out the best ways to market and connect with the community. But honestly, nothing has ever thrown me off track.
Every obstacle has just been part of the journey — and I’m grateful for all of it.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
First and foremost, God — none of this would be possible without faith and divine guidance. Every step of this journey has been covered in prayer, and I truly believe that’s what has kept me grounded and moving forward.
My family has been my rock — constantly encouraging me, supporting my vision, and reminding me of my strength when I doubted it. AJ has also been a huge part of this journey, offering love, support, and belief in me from day one.
I’m so grateful for my friends, who cheered me on even when things were just an idea, and for my incredible instructors, who bring passion, energy, and excellence to the studio every single day. They help make Paradise what it is.
And of course, I have to thank our amazing members — the heart of our community. Their loyalty, feedback, and trust continue to inspire me and push me to grow the brand.
