Hi Bridget, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
Well, my teenage years were a rollercoaster, to say the least. Let’s just say I pushed the boundaries a bit, and my parents eventually felt overwhelmed. At 23, I was a single mom of two, but that didn’t stop me from chasing my dreams and lighting up my path.
I’ve always gravitated towards sales and marketing. It was a good fit, but I had this burning ambition – to own my advertising agency someday. Throughout my 20s and early 30s, I gained valuable experience working for companies like Yellow Pages, Facebook, and Groupon.
Then, at 36, I took a giant leap of faith and launched my own digital ad agency! It was a massive risk, but one that’s definitely paid off.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Smooth road? Let’s just say it’s been more like scaling Mount Everest in stilettos! In my younger years, there wasn’t much guidance on emotional intelligence or personal development. It was a solo climb, learning everything on the fly.
And entrepreneurship itself can be lonely, but for me, it felt even lonelier without family support. Thankfully, there were a few diamonds in the rough – people who saw way more potential in me than I did myself. They pushed me to develop my EQ and to lead with my heart and authenticity.
Being authentic in the public eye ruffled some feathers, and it still does! But at a certain point, I realized I couldn’t give a flying fig what anyone else thought. It was about staying true to myself, you know? So, in 2019, I dug my heels in, got serious about the business, and haven’t looked back since. It’s been a wild ride, but it’s worth every bump and four businesses later.
