Today we’d like to introduce you to Bob Reish.
Hi Bob, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Where I am at today is a series of stepping stones and stumbling blocks. Through the years in various industries, I was able to gain experience in telecommunications, ministry and insurance just to name a few. In each instance, I always ended up in the classroom. In the classroom and on stage is where I found my passion. My passion in helping others become not only successful, but significant began to become the thread in my core fabric.
Over the years, whether in industry, business or ministry, I was able to hone my systems and processes. As the years passed by, I began to discover I was born to train and coach. Yes, I was always excited to make a sale, finish a project or complete an assignment. I discovered that I was more excited to watch others find their success over my own success. Commissions, bonuses and salary were used to fill needs and wants, the success of others became my true passion.
As I spent years in the corporate world, I begin to realize that my significance and impact to future generation was limited. The value I provided was great in the corporate world, the impact and value was greater as I ventured in the the world of entrepreneurship.
April, 2015, I opened my own coaching practice. Although I have experienced massive growth as a business owner, I have received more satisfaction in watching others find their place in leadership and impacting future generations.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There is a difference between easy/hard and simple/complicated. Building a business is never easy. Running a business is never easy. However, it is possible to be simple. Going back to the analogy of stumbling blocks and stepping stones, both will lead you to success. The difference is how you think about the stone. I have had many mentors in my life that have guided me to great success and significance. On the other side of the coin, I have had many people who have attempted to derail me at every turn. Both sides of the coin have been vital to my success. Many opportunities have been created and illuminated by those who have attempted to derail me. I owe a thank you to those who saw my potential and guided me ahead, as well as those who were looking to stop my success.
As I look back at the struggles, they are the detours that I needed to get to my destination. Struggles are only in the way to guide you to the path you are meant to be on. If I had known the struggle ahead of time, I may have stopped. I would not trade the opportunities that struggles have afforded me. It is important not to focus on the struggle, but rather focus on the path the struggle has provided.
